Hi there. I have created my first Homebrew weapon for a campaign that I am running. The item is called The Bow of Galadonel, and is intended to be a family heirloom for one of my characters. I can't seem to set the attack and damage modifiers correctly, though. This is what I've added so far, and they seem to produce a weapon that isn't as powerful as a "stock" Shortbow +3:
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I think your modifiers modify your damage and attack to a fixed number, rather than modifying it by a fixed number. Remove them and create a single modifier of the type "Bonus - Magic" and set that fixed value to 3. See if that's what you want.

Thank you again. That solved the issue for me.

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
Thank you for the suggestion. I'll try that.
