In the city of Waterdeep rests a tavern called the Yawning Portal, named after the gaping pit in its common room. At the bottom of this crumbling shaft is a labyrinthine dungeon shunned by all but the most daring adventurers. Known as Undermountain, this dungeon is the domain of the mad wizard Halaster Blackcloak. Long has the Mad Mage dwelt in these forlorn depths, seeding his lair with monsters, traps, and mysteries—to what end is a constant source of speculation and concern.
Waterdeep : Dungeon of The Mad Mage is designed for characters of 5th through 20th level.
My name is Bellow. I am 35 years old DM experience for 15+ years. I love roleplay and telling stories. I already have 4 campaign going on they are heavy RP and homebrew worlds. This campaign is more focused on exploring and fighting more relaxed dungeon. If you want to explorer big dungeon fight with monsters, look for traps this game for you.
All characters start at level 5 you can use point buy : 17 15 14 14 12 10 or you can roll for stats 2 times and choose one of the sets between.
All the books and races are allowed.
You will start with one +1 magical item off your choice. (weapon or armor) and +500 gp for shopping
I have some homebrew rules it will be better if you read those rules before apply.
We are gonna use discord for voice and roll20 for visuals.

Homebrew Rules :
Homebrew stat LUCK : I have my own homebrew stat called luck. You can't change this stat it is what you rolled. This stat show how lucky you are.
So how does it work ? Let's say there is 2 players on the field and one ogre. First player has 14 luck and second player has 17 luck and ogre gonna attack one of them at the first round. They are rolling their luck stat with their plus (1d20 +2 for 14, +3 for 17) and whoever get the least number get unlucky and ogre decided to attack her. Of course if this character if like 100 feet away from ogre it is not gonna attack her this need special ground too but in big fights your luck will decide whoever get attacked first not by me.
Second use of luck is burning luck point : Lets say you have 14 luck point. it has +2 modifier and you have whatever you have as your luck score even if it is 3 you have +1 burning luck point from birth. So if you have 14 stat and +2 modifier and +1 from birth you have total 3 burning luck point. You can change any dice to 20 with burning luck point in any dices. This make it auto success. When you burn your luck you have 14 with 3 burning luck point if you burn 1 point you will get -1 luck stat and -1 luck burning point. Your new score will be 13 luck with 2 burning points and you can't change or upgrade your luck score in anyway.
Critical miss : There is no critical miss in 5th e if you roll 1 you can make a critical miss. After you roll 1 while attacking or using skill I want you to roll d20 again to see if it is critical miss or not.
Signature Weapons and armors : I always love the idea where player connect with his/her weapon or armor so I come up with new rule. You can transfer magic item power with a ritual from now on. How does it work : If you have your starting sword lets say a Longsword but you name it and want to use it all time you find another magical +1 longsword or dagger or axe you can make a ritual it takes one day and you can transfer it is power to your weapon. That magic weapon will disappear and you will get the magic power of that weapons. Lets say you already have a magical weapon +1 Longsword but you found out something else and want to transfer it. When you transfer your new weapon power your +1 Longsword loses it is +1 power and take the new form so you can't stack powers. It is same with every item, armor etc.
But of course there is some items that you can't transfer like one of a kind and legendary items. So keep that in mind.
