Had a character drop out due to Real Life issues. Game is at 7PM CDT every Thursdays, most of the players are new to D&D.
1: When rolling for your ability scores, they must be seen by me on Roll20.
2: When making a character, roll 4d6 and drop the lowest roll and reroll 1's, but only once, you can roll 2 sets. If you have a bad result, then replace your lowest score with a 16.
3: Only races from Eberron can be chosen, so no races from Mystic Oddities of Theros, but I will accept the centaur and the minotaur.
4: All class archetypes can be used except from Unearthed Arcana.
5: No homebrew content for classes, but Critical Roll content can be used.
6: Give your character a backstory of both why they're in Sharn and why they joined Clifftop.
7: If you have an idea for a homebrew background, run it by me first.
8: I will not allow Tasha's race customize feature, but I will allow Tasha's class customize feature.
9: If you want to invent your own spells, you must be at least 9th level and talk to me about it.
10: Play your character how you want to, as long as they don't conflict with the group.
If you can accept these rules, then please fill out this application.
What are you looking for in a game?: intrigue is my preferred content, exploration is extremely fun when done right, puzzles that makes you think outside the box, and combat
Character Name: Professor Greggory Swift
Character Class: Artificer
Backstory: As a boy, Gregory had an aptitude in academics and dabbled in tinkering. His family life was nothing astonishing and he was content when not hurried in his books but, like gravity, he was always drawn to study. After exhausting the meager library in his village he decided to venture out in his early teen years to the larger settlements for a chance to join a college in pursuit of knowledge and understanding. Once there he realized his self taught expertise paled in comparison to the experts and even the apprentices but rather than being discouraged by this realization, Gregory dived deeper into study. Eventually he learned enough for admittance and step by step, year by year he achieved a position of teaching at his alma mater. Being in his early 20s, he was on the young side of the teaching staff and was far from the wisest among them. He did have ingenuity on his side. He constantly experimented and researched engineering and tinkering to build anything of purpose. While attempting to infuse magic into his creations while armed only with a theoretical understanding of the process, an accident occurred and took his left hand in the process. Ashamed by this he decided to leave his post as professor and take a sabbatical to continue his research in private. For 20 years and limited contact with the outside world he made many wonderful inventions to serve a purpose for him as all things should. He created a prosthetic for his missing arm and a companion for social interaction and note taking. He is a prime example of someone who has a theoretical understanding of the wide world but very little tangible experience in it. Gregory made a promise to himself that once he solved the problems he faced individually, he’d venture out to find more problems to solve.
