Rules and How this Works
This chat is meant to serve as a hub for players to advertise their characters so DMs looking for a group can browse here and pick potential candidates for their campaigns.
To advertise your character please fill out something similar to this form, you are basically recreating your character sheet in a way, feel free to add more information.
Name
Race
Alignment
Class
Stats
Description of their appearance and you can add a picture if you feel like it.
Backstory (Flaws, Bond, Ideals, anything along this line)
State if your character is still available or if they have been recruited for a campaign/how many campaigns you are willing to run with this character at the same time and how a DM can contact you
For the DMs who have found a potential player they wish to recruit, please speak with them through PM (private message), I don't want this thread to be overrun with conversation between multiple people at the same time. Let's keep this nice and orderly
I will allow DMs to post a single advertisement (this maybe subject to change but I just don't want people spamming their advertising) for their campaigns here but you are ultimately responsible for keeping track of your players. I would advise you keep track of and edit the positions that are open within your advertisement and list the names of the characters that you have recruited.
Let's avoid any sort of drama or arguing here. If there is any sort of disagreement, settle it outside of here.
Please do not report others if they do not follow my rules, leave that to me to decide if they deserve being reported. I would prefer to give the person a warning of the rule they did not follow and help them to correct their mistake rather than resort to drastic measures.
Just so I know you have read these rules, please put the phrase One Winged Angel in bold at the end of your first post.
Wait so this is going on to other people? I just lost a friend because he accused me of deleting messages from here when I haven't touched them. I see the notifcations but when I click to view them, they don't exist. I am very confused and frankly more than a little upset right now.
I can delete my own messages. I can not touch anyone elses, there does not appear to be any feature that does so at least that I know of. I am half wondering if this is some sort of bug..
Okay for those who are confused on what happened, firehawk2324 was kind enough to figure out what happened and they pmed me this:
Hey, 1WingedAngel,
About those posts that were deleted, it appears that they were messages from a user who was not following the rules you had set forth in your original post. They were reported by another user, and a moderator deleted them. There are only a total of 3 posts that have been deleted, between 2 different users. I hope that clears up any misunderstandings.
-Firehawk
That was copy and pasted word for word from what they said. I don't who reported who but the last thing I expected to wake up to this morning were people unhappy or confused about what was going on in this forum post. I am sincerely hoping that this thread will pick up in activity once again and a new rule will be made in an effort to keep this from happening again. I apologize to all of you who got your messages deleted and I encourage you to repost them if you wish to.
My plan for Tap is very RP/utility centric; he'll essentially be a mix between a bard and a thief (RP and ability-wise). The Kenku are strange in that they cannot express an original idea, including words. They communicate entirely through mimicking, exactly, the words/voices/sounds they've heard before. I'm a big fan of RP and see that as a very interesting challenge to take on and plan to have Tap embrace the Kenku mentality exactly (no meta work arounds). To do that, as you may have guessed from the class build, he'll use telepathic communication (again, it won't be original thought only mentally projected images of things he's seen/heard/experienced before) along with his mimicry skill. When he gets the Chain familiar it will be an Imp that will have a personality of its own (that will often come in odds with Tap because of their alignment differences). The Imp will become the final, and most articulate, way for Tap to communicate because the curse restriction against original expression will not apply to the telepathic connection between the Imp and Tap (because the Old Great One that Tap is pledged to is the same being that cursed the Kenku to begin with [Tap won't know this]). Of course the Imp will make it's own decision on how exactly to convey the messages Tap wants them to and that conflict will be part of their relationship. I plan to give Tap illusion, then eventually shapeshifting, abilities so he can fit in (and deceive) other humanoids without revealing he's a Kenku. His full story is in the spoiler below.
Backstory:
Tap, like many Kenku, was a member of a criminal flock. His dexterity and drive to seek out new experiences made him a rather effective front man for the flock. Like all Kenku, he could not express an original idea, but he sought out an ever expanding range of experiences in order to increase his base vocabulary and artistic expression. He especially enjoyed music and spent much of his free time following his favorite bards and memorizing their pieces.
During one mission he was tasked with retrieving a magical trinket and returning it to the flock. The flock Master, Tap's father, had informed him of his intent to acquire the crystal and deliver it to their client for a large sum. Tap was assigned as the Hand for the operation; the flock member that would physically make the lift when the target holding the item was distracted. Like he had done so many times in the past, Tap successfully pickpocketed the target with no one the wiser, even slipping under the notice of his flock mates watching the target on a bet that he couldn't do it. However, this lift proved to be life changing as the crystal itself showed him a stream of visions. In an instant he saw his Kenku ancestors at the height of their glory, flying through open skies with their natural wings, singing beautiful songs the like of which he's never heard and haven't been heard since those times. The visions went on to show them losing their wings and their place in the heavens. Finally, the crystal gave an offer and a promise; if Tap entered into a pact with this powerful being, he would gain magical abilities that would allow him to fly, with the promise that Tap would also have the opportunity to discover the true source of the curse that afflicted his people and, possibly, end it.
With the good of himself and his people in mind, Tap quietly slipped into the shadows...
Availability: Tap is available and probably will be for a while; not a whole lot of DMs allow non-standard races. To do his character justice, I'll only be doing PbP campaigns with him (trying to effectively RP him vocally is beyond my ability). For the same reasons, I only want to do one campaign with him at a time, though I do hope I can get into a long one or a string of campaigns so that he develops as a character over the course of actual game play. PM me here to contact me, I can give you my discord then if you want to communicate that way.
Class: Barbarian (Would take Path of the Totem Warrior)
Background: Outlander
Stats at level 1: (Made using Point Buy, although, of course, I would change if needed): Str 17, Dex 12, Con 17, Int 8, Wis 11, Cha 10
Appearance: Krav weighs over 200 pounds, and stands about 4'6. His skin is a light shade of brown, and his short black hair is rather disheveled. He has a short, scruffy black beard as well. His eyes are light brown. In fact, Krav just looks like a typical dwarf, albeit a more wild-looking one.
Age: 52, just barely not "young" by dwarven standards.
Backstory:
Krav grew up in the Unrol Clan. He learned masonry for some time, and was rather good, too. However, when Krav's father, a miner named Numrin, caused a mining accident through sheer incompetence, an accident resulting in the deaths of several dwarves (including Numrin himself), the blame fell on Krav, who was accused of distracting Numrin (a complete falsehood). Krav was exiled, and forbidden (as is dwarvish custom) from using the Unrol clan name or any other. He journeyed through the wilds for a few years, and developed a strong connection to nature. Krav believes in the old religion, much like druids.
Basic Personality Traits: I place no stock in wealthy, well-mannered folk. I face problems head-on. A simple, direct solution is the best path to success.
Ideal: Individuality. Everyone is their own person, and should be treated as such.
Bond: If not for the kindness of the nature spirits, I would never have survived my first days in the wild. I should show kindness to others, as well.
Flaw: Deep down, I don't trust most people, and why should I? The ones I trusted exiled me.
Combat role: Tank/Damage Dealer. Preferably both at the same time.
State: Used in one campaign. I can play on Roll20, Discord, PbP on this site, or another similar way, but I don't have a microphone for voice chat, so I can only use text-based communication. I'd be open to using slight variations of this character in more than one campaign.
I have a character I'm looking to jump into campaigns with. I am hoping for a rp centric campaign.
Name: Rowena Winters
Race: Human Variant
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Class: Rogue/Sorcerer
Stats: Up to campaign
Human female of a lithe build and stands around 5'. She has white hair pulled back in a messy bun. Her clothes look old and tattered and she has probably seen better days. A scar runs along her upper lip. She's around 25 years old. (I have custom art but not posting it here. ^^)
Backstory: Your average poor farm girl, who ended up in the wrong crowd and is on the run. (I adjust backstories to the worlds I'm in, so without the details of the world, here is a quick summary.)
I have a character able to fit in any game (hopefully)
name: Brutus Da’ghar
race: goblin
class: rogue lvl 1 (but can level up if needed)
alignment: CG
stats: depends on the dm’s prefered style, i can do all.
this veteran sailor of a goblin has travelled the world in order to get enough coin to support his own life. With no family and little friends he has keeps his plans to a minimum but recently he changed his mind. He is joining a group of adventurers to earn enough coin to get a family and maybe even a nice home in a friendly town. Trained by the goblins he prefers quick hit and run strategies and knows his way around the blood of others.
Notes: he prefers his crossbow and likes to stealth around while helping his team.
(I dont know how to bold text on phone :/ but I have read the intro and the ONE WINGED ANGEL bit)
Description: Katie is.... an oddball. A bit slow on the uptake, with a few moments of brilliant insight, Katie is a bit of a savant - a towering intellect at the academic study of magic and quite poorly adapted to most other things. He is also quite easily scared, bordering on cowardice. Due to his small size and his backstory, he's not really the fighting type - more the run away type. His spell selection will be RP based and will include no (or maybe one - Thunderwave) offensive spells, and even that will probably be used defensively 95% of the time. He is going to be an illusion/control based wizard, focusing on confusing enemies, and altering the battlefield, buying his friends time to beat stuff up but also trying to keep himself safe. So if you're looking for a wizard to melt faces.... Katie is not for you. If you're looking for a ridiculous party companion that will entertain with his silly actions (while still respecting the nature of the story), and be a bit of a devotion from the standard hero archetype, Katie is your ma... gnome.
Note to DM's: Not sure what your plan is for starting off the story, but I'd ideally like Katie to sort of stumble into the party and have no choice but to go along. He's not a hero; he was most likely in the wrong place at the wrong time and maybe was discovered eavesdropping and he had to go along to keep quiet. I'm open to suggestions, but definitely not a case of, "he showed to go adventuring because he's a shining paragon of virtue".
Backstory:
Katie remembers waking up in a cage. It is his first real memory: the bars, the bumpy wagon ride, the smell of sweat and grime and the increasingly loud sounds of bustling, busy life as the caravan that had captured him approached an unknown city. He was sold off to a noble who paraded him around parties as entertainment. The noble's daughter took pity on the sorry gnome, who she'd given the name Katie to, and released him. He ran away and lived on the streets, fending for himself, struggling to survive. His favourite hiding spot, easily accessible for someone as small as him, was beside a wizards home and Katie's favourite past time was to fall asleep to the sounds of this mage who liked speaking to himself. Over the years, Katie had become so familiar with the wizards spells, his words, his gestures, that he started using the simple illusions he'd learnt on the streets to help him survive.
Availability: Available.
Preferred playing times: Weekends, 5pm or afterwards. EST. Discord, etc.
(I will send stats once I know what level I will be starting. But will say DEX and WIS will be highest followed by either CON or CHA)
(Backstory I wish to save for the DM/GM so we can talk about how to create it with their world etc.)
This character is in my own campaign but that's my home group and is a traveling NPC that they can run into or hire etc for help. I want to run with this character preferred but am willing to show my other creations (Which are many) if a Monk is not needed or wanted for your game.
I am sorry for the very plain description of the character and am willing to tell all the information needed for the game etc. As a Dm/GM I know what its like to have something over prepared and then half or more of the creation not be used or seen due to things changing the game etc.
I am EST and have Fridays and Saturdays free! I will link my LFG post so you can see what I am looking for in more detail. (I also have Discord and Roll20)
4'5, grey eyes, auburn hair, stout, solid, warm, faint scar on right cheekbone, 38 lbs
Backstory: the youngest of 4, I fell in love with the daughter of a rival house and her family found out and threatened to reveal the secret to my family and bring shame to our house unless I left and forfeit my title. Now I live in solitude, traveling into cities to resupply and look for travelling groups to lend my aide to as a proficient ranger.
3'9, dark yellow eyes, very Dark green, Black hair in a top knot, kind of lanky but brawny as well, Scar across forehead.
he was born into a mercenary war band where all the goblins would get wolfs to ride, so the moment he was born they gave him a wolf puppy, and he named it Sticky. and these 2 would roam the world looking for stuff to take and challenging those he thought stronger then him. They have been together since birth ( its up to the DM if he wants the wolf to fight in combat or if he just wants it to stand around and not attack does not matter to me). Crok has a hard time leaving sticky behind he sorta gets separation anxiety, and he will most likely cling to any other PC's clothing to hopefully calm himself down.

Description: Pale skinned dark hair grey blue eyes imagine Dane Dehaan
Backstory: In short he was raised by his druid mother and his paladin aunt who were training him to be a soldier in their revolutionary group. He was taken captive and sold to fight as a gladiator and embraced his anger whilst in the fighting pits before eventually getting his freedom and now he's a man without a purpose. Class: Wizard (Necromancer) 5 Since he's never been used I can alter his class and level to suit the current status of the campaign.

Backstory: D&D Background Guild Artisan/Merchant. He grew up as the son of an undertaker and mortician and learned from his father how to prepare the dead and the like and that sparked his curiosity and he began studying magic and the necromantic arts. After having taken over the business from his father he began experimenting more with the necromantic arts. The funny thing is if you were to interact with this bubbly and sweet cinnamon roll of a person you'd never peg him for a necromancer, let a lone a mortician. He believes himself to be an artist both as a mortician and as a necromancer.

Grew up as an urchin and pickpocket on the streets running from the creature that pursued him and doing what he had to in order to survive which lead to him growing up socially isolated and paranoid. Eventually he fell under the protection and tutelage of a ranger from a religiously devout guild of hunters of the undead who took him in and trained him to hunt the things that go bump in the night, though the entity that hunted him came back and killed his tutor and he barely escaped. Rules and How this Works
What's going on with this thread? People keep posting, then their posts get deleted; why?
I ask because it seems like a cool idea, but it also seems like something fishy is going on.
Wait so this is going on to other people? I just lost a friend because he accused me of deleting messages from here when I haven't touched them. I see the notifcations but when I click to view them, they don't exist. I am very confused and frankly more than a little upset right now.
Yeah, maybe someone is trolling you. Could be someone who has your log-on info or is using a machine you logged onto before, but didn't log out of.
I noticed a few posts before while I was at work, but didn't have time to type up my own. Then when I checked back, posts I saw would be missing.
I can delete my own messages. I can not touch anyone elses, there does not appear to be any feature that does so at least that I know of. I am half wondering if this is some sort of bug..
I'm going to look into this matter for you. For now, please continue on with your LFG thread. :)
A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
Thank you so much.
