You can feel it, can't you? Like an animal whimpering before a storm or a village elder feeling an ache in their knees at approaching danger, there are select times in history where all know something is coming. What is this feeling? Where is this deep anxiety, gathering in your gut like a stone at the bottom of a reservoir, coming from? You cannot be sure. But one thing is for certain: you must prepare. You must be ready.
The Miasma of Change is a completely homebrew campaign that takes place on the Continent of Zulrin in the World of Brustille, a world I've been creating over the course of a few years now. I'm really excited to share this world with you and for you to help expand the world through your characters!
About me: My name is Sean, I'm 26, and I've been DMing Dungeons and Dragons for almost 15 years and DMing professionally for the last year or so. I grew up playing 4th edition with my brother in the school library and fell in love with DnD in an instant. To quote a better DM than myself, Matthew Colville, it is the most fun you can have with your brain.
This game is available to new and experienced players alike. I have a lot of experience teaching folks the game and would be happy to do so for anyone before the first session so the transition from learning to playing is simple. Sessions will last ~3-4 hours depending on the session.
Now for the big question: why pay for DnD? There are a few reasons I feel comfortable charging for my DMing. Firstly, while I'm sure there are many old-school players that have more raw experience DMing than myself, I'm confident that my 15 years of DMing, along with my non-DnD performative experience, has provided me with more experience than the average DM in running a fun and exciting session. Secondly, I have invested a good amount in high quality audio equipment to provide a higher quality audio experience on my end than a free campaign might be able to. Thirdly, I have dedicated hundreds of hours into immersing myself in Roll20 to learn how to run sessions through it. While I'm sure I still have things to learn, I feel confident I can help folks use it and have access to things like dynamic lighting. Finally, having a financial investment can both help keep people committed to the group (an issue that has plagued many campaigns throughout DnD's history) and allow me to dedicate my full time and effort required to provide a fun and meaningful experience.
If you are interested in playing, either add me on Discord @ruffymcpuffy, fill out the anonymous google form below, or leave your info in a comment below! I like talking to folks before they join the game, so we'll schedule a super short and informal chat to talk before the first session for those interested. $20/session but $10 for your first session.
