🏰 About the Adventure
It is the year 1517 DR. 36 years have passed since the Red Hand Horde War in the Elsir Vale. For the most part, the Vale has rebuilt and prospered, with leadership becoming more centralised under Brindol. However, in recent decades, the power of House Jarmaath has waned, while the other noble houses on the ruling council have steadily gained influence. Rumors of corruption and infighting among the nobility continue to spread.
The people of the Elsir Vale have grown increasingly uneasy. Threats are on the rise, bandits and monsters roam the wilderness, orcs and goblins raid outlying towns, and ever more disturbing rumors from the west speak of orcs on the warpath.
In response to these dangers, the Vale has seen a rise in mercenary activity. Hired blades take on whatever work they can find—caravan protection, monster hunting, or guard duty—seeking coin where it's offered. Meanwhile, the various town guards remain focused on maintaining order within their own borders, leaving the roads and wilds more vulnerable than ever.
With trade routes disrupted and the costs of rebuilding mounting, House Jarmaath has lost much of its former wealth. Once a symbol of prosperity, the house now looks outward, seeking new markets for the goods the Vale produces in abundance.
Our story begins abit later:
Our story begins with our heroes, who have recently established themselves as a mercenary company after successfully saving several townsfolk of Brindol from the clutches of goblins. That was nearly six weeks ago. Since their initial success, however, unseen forces have spread vicious rumors about the party, so thoroughly that they haven’t been able to secure any new work since.
Down on their luck, they begin hearing news from the far west: the dwarven city of Overlook is calling for aid from adventurers and sellswords. Orcs are on the warpath, and though Overlook is martial and well-defended, a plea for reinforcements is not to be taken lightly.
As the heroes consider making the journey, they are approached by Lady Cordelia, the current regent of Brindol while her father, Lord Kerdan Jarmaath, is away on a diplomatic mission. She offers the heroes a proposition: act as her escort to Overlook, and upon arrival become her retained adventurers. In return, she promises a 10% bonus on top of any pay earned while working in her name.
Desperate for work, the heroes accept the offer without hesitation and set out toward Overlook, a journey of roughly two ten-days. In Overlook our heroes are offered a job to head to the Monastery of the Sundered Chain, a Dwarven monastery high in the mountains, their job is three-fold, warn the dwarves of the Orcs on the warpath, command them to seal their underground tunnels, and request any reinforcement that the monastery might be able to offer the besieged fortress of Brodins Watch, our heroes setout on their first job since Brindol.

🎲 About Your Dungeon Master
Greetings, adventurers! I’m a 32-year-old Dane with a deep love of fantasy, inspired by Tolkien and the world of Critical Role. My DM style is rooted in dynamic storytelling, grounded world-building, taking influence from Matt Colville, and I love making epic moments that players will remember for years. I prioritise player enjoyment, the “rule of cool,” and creative problem-solving.
I put great effort into making a world that feels real for my players, and making the experience feel like friends sitting around the dining room table playing at home, with plenty of room for casual silliness and a focus on the serious story elements, many of my players have gone on to form real life friendships outside of the game as well, and with groups still running with the same players after 6 years, I think this attests to the quality of my games.
I pride myself on my easy-going attitude and consistency. I have run many paid groups over the past half-decade and have had great success introducing completely new players to the game and hobby. I would love to welcome anyone new to my table.
🔧 How I Run the Game
Tools & Immersion: Professional maps, custom handouts, in-world calendar, thematic music, and a visually engaging Roll20 setup.
Combat & Pacing: Fast and strategic combat that keeps everyone engaged, alongside character-driven roleplay moments, I employ various API’s and macros to enhance the Roll20 experience.
Player Feedback: I encourage open communication between sessions to ensure everyone’s having fun and that the game evolves to meet player interests.

If you’re interested in joining, please complete the form below and reply to this thread. Include as much detail as possible to help me understand who you are and what you’re looking for.
Name (Real or preferred): Age: Pronouns: Country/Time Zone: Preferred Story/Game Style: Contribution to the Group: Ideal Group Dynamics: Experience with D&D/5e/Roll20/RP: Premade Campaigns Played: Additional Information: Questions for the DM:
CIV – Kobold Monk of Mercy At times a little naïve, CIV always strives to seek the path of least violence whenever possible. Armed with a healer’s kit, he makes sure everyone is cared for if they get injured. His compassion and dedication to non-violence make him the gentle heart of the group.
Sera – Human Redemption Paladin Sera is the party mom—the voice of reason and righteousness. She’s far more likely to offer you tea than draw a blade. But if evil bares its fangs against the innocent, Sera will raise hell and high water. Those who do wrong had better pray they don’t get too close to one of her smites, for she judges in the name of Torm the True.
Ser Evaerys – Silver Dragonborn Hexblade Warlock A noble dragonborn from a distant household, Ser Evaerys is so far down the line of succession that he was sent on a long sojourn to gain experience—and, as tradition encourages, to find another noble house to marry into, so he no longer lingers around the family estate. One night, he was brutally stabbed by a hooded figure wielding a broken blade. Thanks to CIV’s timely aid, he survived. Evaerys kept the broken weapon, and since that night, strange powers have awakened within him.
Silence – Tabaxi Arcane Trickster Rogue Shrouded in mystery, Silence shares little about her past. She cares deeply for kobolds and holds a distinct dislike for nobility. While CIV and Sera believe anyone can be redeemed, Silence’s more grounded worldview reminds the party that not everyone can be saved, and sometimes the most direct path is the best one. (Saddly Silence is the player who had to step out of the group)
Lokierial Ashurek (“Ash”) – Eladrin Draconic Soul Sorcerer Cast out by his clan for what they believe to be a draconic curse, Ash carries the soul of a black dragon within him. Unlike other Eladrin, he cannot change his seasonal aspect and is stuck in a state between fall and winter, giving his skin an ashen tone. Wielding powerful and often volatile magic, Ash searches for his place in a world where those who should have cared for him instead turned him away.
Ilaria and Norbert - Tiefling Lore Bard Known to the locals as the Dragon Bard, Ilaria has spent many years travelling the land, telling her tales and singing her songs. One day, the mysterious egg she had carried for so long finally hatched. It was a dragon’s egg. From it emerged little Norbert, who has been Ilaria’s trusted companion ever since. Often mistaken for a small red dragon, Norbert is in fact a ruby dragon, and only time will tell what stories their shared journey has yet to unfold.
If you think this band sounds like a fun group to adventure with, please send in your application! They are all eager to welcome aboard a new friend and ally.
Hey there, I hope you guys are doing well and are still looking for another person to join your group.
Name (Real or preferred): Gregory Age: 31 Pronouns: he/him Country/Time Zone: Germany/CEST
Preferred Story/Game Style: I do prefer stories, where we the players are part of the world and not define the world. Combat should not be the solution to all our problems, but when it is, it should feel impactful. In regards to the themes of the stories I enjoy the most; I would say those are either stories with social/societal upheaval or the unearthing of lost places and forgotten knowledge.
Contribution to the Group: I stay sober and drive the group back home safely. On a more serious note, I'm quite flexible I'm the kind of person who "fixes holes" in the group where I see them. I can be as introverted/extroverted as the group needs me to be. I wont be a joke machine (I'm a bit too german for that), but I certainly wont bring down the mood, after all, we all just wanna have a good time playing D&D.
Ideal Group Dynamics: In my (limited) experience with D&D I usally have looked for groups who already started their campaign and lost a player, so I can finish it with them (and in hope we can stick together after that). I prefer when the group is already familiar with each other, because it helps me reading the group dynamic and act acordingly. I do have a hard time with people "meta gaming" tho (it kinda takes me out of the imersion).
Experience with D&D/5e/Roll20/RP: I started playing D&D in my later college years (~2018-2020) and while my first 2-3 games where mostly 1-shots, I did get proper campaign experience later on. That being said it's been a while since I used Roll20, so I might need a refresher on things. Other than that I did some RP in MMORPGs, as well as played some solid RPG titles like Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Divinity 2 or WH40k: Rogue Trader.
Premade Campaigns Played: I played through the "Descent into Avernus" from start to finish, played the ~2nd half of Curse of Strad as well as a bit of Rime of the Frostmaiden (before this particular group broke up).
Additional Information: Sadly I could not play for the last 2 years, since playing a new campaign is quite the commitment to your own and other peoples time, but now that I have settled down in life and found a nice rythm, I consider myself to be in the perfect position to get back into it. I can be sometimes a bit of a theatre kid and sometimes a bit impatient, but I'm always a nerd at heart. I love the social element of roleplay, I love the fantasy genre and I certainly love a pretty map to look at.
Questions for the DM: Do I require extra material (roll20 moduls or other stuff) I should get for the campaign?
I think that covers most of it. If you have any questions feel free to DM me on Discord (lura0563), I'm usally online from 18:00 cest onwards. Other than that, I hope to hear more from you guys soon and I wish you a nice weekend.
Thank you for the application Lucreon, I have gone ahead and set you a DM where we might discuss more.
For anyone else wishing to join, please send over your applications, we are looking to find the best fit for the group that would join us for great adventures ahead!
