My name is Joe and I have been DMing for 3 years now. I am looking for 2 more players for a campaign on Sundays 8:00pm or 8:30pm CST for 3-4 hrs. For 18 +
Info:
In the land of Wesdim there is trouble brewing in every corner. There is a rise of disappearances and unexplained deaths that leave people questioning the people around them and the ones that are supposed to protect them. A fire worshiping cult spreading throughout the continent burning villages and corrupting people. War, brewing between the Elven Kingdom of Moonhaven and the Human Kaldorian Empire where an ancient grudge is being renewed. And ships going out into the Glimmering Sea and never returning. Are these problems connected? If so, who is behind it all? Will you stop the evil before it spreads further or succumb to the tempting corruption that is spreading around you? Your journey begins in the town of Goppenton in western Wesdim which is under the governance of the nearby merchant city Stelport. The local baron named Lord Everstar has called for help from adventurers to help him investigate the weird things going on in this town. For people have been taken from their homes and never heard from again and weird sightings of unusual rats in the water supply of the town. His plea says to be discreet when coming to town and to only come to talk to him or his advisor Edwin. To meet him at the public forum in the town square at dusk where he will give you more information and offer you payment. “My People are in need and when innocents are in danger brave heroes are needed. So I ask Brave Hero come to Goppenton and help me” - Lord Everstar
Type of Campaign you want: I like 60% RP/ 40% combat tbh, i have a lot of fun with world lore and player character arcs. So id like a champaign that is story driven, where everyone gets there moment in the sun, and obviously kind and respectful to each other.
Character Idea: I have a few but I'd like to learn more about the world a lil more before deciding, one would be a barbarian(adopted as a baby by farmers and gifted with unparallel strength), the other would be a paladin (from an ancient order of hunters of the undead),
Jotato, I saw your post about needing additional players, and I would be interested in joining the campaign. I'm in the EST with work at 8 am, so I'd lean more to 3 - 3.5 hour sessions. What will we be using for the table? Or will that be discussed later?

+18?: Yes
Gender: M
Experience: I DMed through college for friends, and played in a handful of one shots.
Type of Campaign you want: I'm fine with anything. I love puzzles, RP, combat, really anything.
Character Idea: I'd love to play an artificer I have been tinkering. He's a gnome battle smith that is a craftsman-merchant, selling repair services as well as goods he prepares. He adventures both for coin and for materials to turn into items to sell.
Here's the hook I've thought about: He had heard the mercantile city Stelport governed Goppenton. Figuring this town might have the right crowd to peddle wares and services, he set out to Goppenton. He heard the Barron's request, and figured getting in with authority might score him both coin and leeway with his business.
Experience: I've played 5e for about 6 years, but am rusty! I've also DM'ed sporadically over the year, mainly one shots and PbP games.
Type of Campaign you want: Any world that I can explore dive deep into the lore is a good start, I don't need combat more than occasionally, but do enjoy it. RP, puzzles and intrigue etc are all essential in one way or another. A game/DM that works to incorporate backstories into the narrative is always preferred.
Character Idea: I usually flex to whatever the party needs, but I've been wanting to play a warlock, monk, or cleric for some time. All of my pc's tend to use some level of magic aside from my most recent one.
Here's an example snippet of one of my ideas (Archfey Warlock):
Growing was actually pretty normal, my parents were present and contributing members of our town. His father, a fletcher and woodworker, was also the scout for the local militia. His mother, a baker, known for her prized lavender-honey cake and tea cookies. He spent much of his childhood assisting his parents in their respective works kneading dough and stringing bows whiles his father ranted about the "crime" that was the creation of crossbows.... all that while surviving the rampage that was twin older sisters - he always tried to go with the flow....for survivals sake.
A stranger, emphasis on the strange, began visiting the family bakery, always with a mischievous grin and a strange, lingering air of wonder. At first, their words felt like riddles and harmless teases, but over time the child, now in his early adulthood, (pc) realized they were offers—power wrapped in poetry. Eventually, curiosity outweighed caution, and with a whispered promise and shared sweets the pact was sealed. Now his "Auntie" sends him on all sorts of wonky "errands" eventually bringing him to Goppenton, "Look through all the nooks and crannies, leave no rat unturned and this shall be a glorious jaunt of tricks and conquests I assure you..."
