Looking for 4-5 Players for an asynchronous game. We don't meet at a scheduled time. You just view the story once a day and we proceed through scenes. This a more narrative focus game, but it is a good way to either satisfy your roll play itch every day or to get to know the game if you are a new player. Great for those with busy schedules who can jump pop in once a day, but always have DND on their minds.
Plot
You travel under the banner of Master Othren Valcero, a wealthy and calculating merchant of the Ruam Trade Union, whose caravans carry spice, silk, and rare metals across the wide frontier of Jyboru. Valcero’s ambitions have earned him both profit and enemies. Rival trade houses watch his movements closely, and more than one would gladly see his wagons burned along the roadside rather than see his influence expand deeper into the interior.
The caravan now ventures along the infamous Saffron Vein, a trade artery that cuts through desert plains and broken canyons where the Union’s reach grows thin. It is a route of immense opportunity — and enormous risk. The Saffron Vein is stalked by raiders, opportunists, and mercenaries who answer to no banner.
Most feared among them is Karn Veyros, the self-proclaimed “Red Jackal,” a ruthless bandit lord who has united scattered raider clans into a disciplined and brutal force. He does not merely rob caravans — he dismantles reputations, cripples rivals, and sends messages written in ash and iron.
What begins as paid escort duty soon reveals something far more dangerous. Trade rivalries, private armies, and whispered alliances move in the shadows of Jyboru’s wealth. Amidst coin and contracts, you find yourselves drawn into a widening power struggle that could fracture the Trade Union itself — and decide who truly rules the roads of Jyboru.
Method
This is an asynchronous, play-by-post D&D campaign. You’ll create a standard 5e character and join the campaign on D&D Beyond. Each scene will present a situation — a confrontation, crisis, negotiation, or combat moment — and you’ll describe what your character does in response. Your character’s personality, strengths, and choices matter. There are no maps or initiative trackers; scenes resolve through decisive narrative actions rather than round-by-round combat.
When you act, you’ll roll using a Discord dice bot, adding the appropriate ability modifier (and proficiency if relevant) just like a normal 5e check. The ability you choose must match how you describe your action. The result of your roll determines how the scene unfolds — strong rolls lead to clean successes, middling rolls may create partial or costly outcomes, and low rolls introduce complications or setbacks. Class features, spells, and creativity absolutely matter, but outcomes will move the story forward rather than stall it.
This game runs on momentum. Each scene has a maximum 48-hour window. Once all players have posted their action — or 48 hours have passed — the scene resolves and the next one begins. The goal is consistent pacing without requiring everyone to be online at the same time. If you enjoy character-driven storytelling, meaningful consequences, and steady narrative progression, this format is built for you.
Who Should Play
Those that want a constant stream of fantasy roleplay but have time limitations. I have been running asynchronous games for years as we all have busy lives that make committing to a single time across a dozen timezones complicated. This will give new and old players the ability to feel and see their characters interact with challenges every day, without having to put your life entirely on hold.
So if you, like me, have the constant desire to be playing and making progress in a campaign, this may just be the game for you.
