Looking to add 2 more players to an already established campaign. Need to be able to post twice a day on average. Characters will be level 5 using standard array. One magical item allowed in gear. You need to tell heroes back story including how you acquired the magical item. You will meet the party at a very rough tavern just inside the gates of Waterdeep. The party is on a mission to find the Shield of Bahamut. They have already completed the Lost Mine of Phandelver. Some of their original party were lost along the way. The party already consists of a Human Paladin, Half-Orc Blood Hunter, Goliath Ranger, and a Halfling Wizard.
Invites will go to two best entries.

DM - New World (LMP), Shield of Bahamut
Darkwing Skyyykiller-Aarakocra Monk- Lost in the Endless Tower
Kabarr Caldera- Fire Genasi- Fighter - Cold Cash
Talley Tafoia-Genasi Cleric-Rising of the Accursed Dragon
Basically it is the same as a regular DnD game but each player types their actions and responses. You can roll dice from this screen (it is the icon on the far right). The pace is usually slower because people are on at different times. During combat, players follow an initiative order. Most campaigns have only about 5-6 players so as to not get bogged down waiting for each player to respond. Most well run campaigns have the DM posting several times a day and each player at least once or twice a day.

I really enjoy PbP and would like to join. I can send you a back story. I am not the best story teller(hence why I am not a DM) but I will be consistent.
Pell was an orphan that was adopted by a temple dedicated to Kelemvor, God of Death. He was indoctrinated with the best of intentions to the teachings and trained to become a hunter of undead, just like the Hero he is named for and idolizes.
In a big show of drama, a corrupt elder doomguide shammed a foretelling of where and how he'd die. The elder told Pell he was being awarded with a shield that reduced the effectiveness of ranged attacks against the individual that donned the shield. What the elder didn't tell Pell is the shield is also cursed to attract ranged attacks that were not even meant for the wearer. Pell, ever an optimist and never questioning his superiors, was honored to be set out in the world to serve Kelemvor with such a valuable gift.
Now out in the world, he is overly and unshakingly optimistic, confident he can't be killed until the foretold time and place. However, he does worry incessantly about others dying around him if they were to follow him into dangerous situations because of his fearlessness. Other than that, he decides on a whim where to go and believes it is Kelemvor guiding him which results in aimless wanderings. Yet, like the hero he worships, he has one ultimate purpose: to eradicate undead.
At a casual glance, a passerby would gain the impression that the tallish human wearing dark smoky colored armor and vestments, hefting a large heavy pack, a shield emblazoned with a skeletal hand holding a balanced scale, and a mace at his hip would be quite vigorous and in the prime of his life as he walked with strength and even swagger. Yet any persons who looked at him up close would see an emaciated face with sunken eye sockets and cheeks, mottled black hair that appears to have fallen out in splotches all over his scalp and dark brown eyes that appear black in all but the brightest light.
Bright light illuminating Pell's pale pasty white skin would also display the spiderweb of veins and capillaries that wouldn't be typical among normal healthy humans. Usually people break eye contact upon looking that closely, glancing away. It is quite possible they would then see a necklace of wooden beads, from which a bat hangs upside down like some macabre preserved pendent. Looking long enough, the bat may shift slightly, open an eye or let out a tiny squeak, evidence of its living status. Or their gaze may end up resting on Pell's pale and pasty white veiny hands with overly long fingers that just do not look right either.
As a priest of Kelemvor, recognizable by the emblem, it is awkward enough out and about during every day life. But the combination of the faith he represents and his sickly appearance makes just about everyone uneasy to be in his presence.
About me: My name is Grant and I've been playing D&D since starting with AD&D in 1981. I am currently DMing two DDB PbP campaigns: Princes of the Apocalypse and Storm King's Thunder - the Gods Respond (a cleric only campaign)
Class: Level 3 Barbarian (Totem of the Bear) / Level 2 Fighter
Still need to do a bit more to tidy up character sheet (e.g. Magic Item etc)
Background
Pok’im Mon (the name he calls himself) was captured as a young cub by slavers, after he wandered he away from his encampment. The slavers sold him to a circus where the unscrupulous owners, thinking he was some sort of bear, through him into the bear cage. One of the female bears, having just lost her own cub, took pity on him and raised him. A popular form of entertainment amongst the villages that the circus used to visit was bear baiting, when the villages would spends hours poking the bears with sticks and cheering each other on with the cry - “Pok’im mon”. Pokim can neither read or write and speaks a smattering of Goblin (his mother tongue), Orcish, the circus owners used to yell at him in this language as well as Common. One day during a particularly rough bear baiting session, a stick went into the eye of Pok’im’s bear mother killing her. Pok’im went berserk and was only restrained with great difficulty. He was chained to a large pole and just as the first spear was about to be thrown at him, a voice cried out “Stop in the name of ???” and a dark skinned human man in his mid-thirties with close cropped hair and of just below average height with a wiry build, wearing light traveling clothes reinforced with leather plates and padding that is clearly of excellent cut and expensive, rode up. Not prepared to go against the word of a priest of Ilmater, or so the ignorant circus owner thought the stranger was, the circus owner said “well if you want the beast, he’s all yours”. Pok’im and one of the existing PCs for that is who the stranger turned out to be, traveled together for the next 12 months. Eventually they parted and went their own separate ways. About six months after they seperated, Pok’im had a dream that ??? was in great danger, ever since then he has been trying to get to ??? to help his friend.
Note for Pokim Mon to work properly he needs to have another PC who rescued him as the Cub who gives him guidance and answers questions such as "Can I pok'im Mon?" If I get selected I am open to anybody taking on this role.
Other options are a Dwarf Bard (3) Fighter (2) or a Shadar Kai Sorcerer/Warlock.

How does play by post even work? That is a new concept to me.

Would you'd be willing to accept someone who is new to D&D but has experience with play by postpost rpgs? If so, I'd like to apply.
I would like to join so how do i do that. Im kind of new to dnd beyond. Im playing a eladrin elf rogue.
What rarity of magic item are we allowed?
Also, just FYI, there's a forum specifically for PBP.
Rare would be the highest.
