We are 13th Floor Studios, a indie game studio and we have several mobile games to our credit on the App Store and Google Play (go search).
What we have conjured up this time is a AAA quality D&D campaign which we want to play test with the ORIGINAL AUTHORS as DMs.

First: a one page treatment about the campaign:
The Gates of Avalon
An epic tale of good and evil, Heaven and Hell…
But mostly Hell!
Into every realm comes the dread of Evil, its embodiment as The Devil. His fingers reaching out to all mortals to tempt them, enslave them and doom them to an eternity of damnation and suffering. The continent of Kyn is no different. Although peace and prosperity have reigned for nearly a century, a series of recent decrees from King Tarrin, third in the Magnus royal bloodline, have left Avalon teetering in disarray. What has befallen the richest kingdom on the continent?
Avalon arose from the legendary victory of Urban Magnus, High Cleric of Pholtus over the forces of Malbogne, Hell’s Champion, at the Th’ull river so many years ago. That defeat banished Malbogne and his master, Arch Devil Moloch, from Kyn for one hundred years. It forced closed the Earthcut, a portal directly into Hell, deep in the Blacksmoke Wood. Since then, with divine power behind House Magnus, Avalon has become a shining jewel on the shores of the Azure Sea. Swelling to a great metropolis, coffers overflowing with gold and other riches and squarely at the epicenter of trade, military might and magic power, Avalon seemed poised to dominate forever.
That has all changed as the Earthcut now spreads its evil tendrils once again into the forest, overrunning the city of Blacksmoke and sending devilkin and possessed creatures rampaging through the Eastern Borderlands. A new and foreboding champion has arrived to lead this evil resurgence. Refugees stream down the King’s Highway, fleeing the encroaching doom. The impenetrable defenses of the capital city are their destination, but the King dreads their arrival with tales of Hell’s invasion. He wants to prevent a panic, but there is something more. He is tormented by nightmares and visions of darkness and death. He is tied to a secret, a dark decision from years ago, which now tears at his sanity every night.
Amid this turmoil, Zorin, the Archmage has returned from a ten-year quest for which no one had known its purpose. He, an ageless wizard of great power, fought by Urban Magnus’ side a century ago to vanquish Hell’s forces. Zorin and his Mage College are the focus of magic power on Kyn, dedicated to concocting new spells and applications of their power. He has returned from across the seas and he too holds a secret which he dares not share.
All the while, as this impossible vortex of circumstance brews, Auria, Avalon’s tenuous trade partner, who holds the realm’s largest gold deposits, grows weary of Avalon and her instability. And Dunsmore, the downtrodden kingdom to the south, still reeling from its sacking by Malbogne a century ago, seeks revenge on their all too fortunate neighbors.
It is here and now that the campaign begins.
An AD&D module in 3 acts featuring:
Deep and detailed history of Kyn, Avalon, House Magnus and Hell itself
Backstories for Player Characters level 14-17
Rich and compelling NPCs, battles, roleplaying scenes and encounters
Planer travel mechanics and rules
Clever tricks, political traps and complex conflicts await the party at every turn
The campaign plot, NPCs, major encounters and modularized milestones are done. Some of the art is done, with much more coming, but we need good PCs to aid us in post Beta polish and design.
Who is needed:
5-6 committed players. With 5e experience and the strong desire to build friendships, collaborate with creative people and role play hard! We will connect via Skye, so you must have webcam (NOT LAPTOP CAM!), broadband, a good mic and skills to set up a good set piece for playing (ie, good lighting, background, clean, use props wear Cos). We need these players to add lore and legend of their own PCs to the game. This will help us finish of the final production.
Campaign:
Gates of Avalon is a gripping, intense and tension filled REAL TIME drama played out in the 5th Edition rules of Dungeons & Dragons. We are producing this fully features and soon to be commercially available module #1 for the Hell Campaign (Working Title). This series of compelling modules will take the player characters from their homeland of Kyn to the vast wastelands of Avernus to a final confrontation with Moloch himself, the Arch Devil banished so long ago by Asmodeus.
The Party will be thrust into service by a unknown but powerful hand, urging them, guiding them and offering them power and glory. The continent facing impending upheaval with the evil spewing forth from the Earthcut and those who would tear Avalon apart aligning against her tormented King Tarrin. Gates of Avalon draws the players in from different background, outlined by the DM but customized by the players. These characters come from all walks of life in Avalon and now they, unknown to each other, will band together to take on unimaginable challenge and risk.
For those who rise to the challenge, a legendary journey awaits.
Start at the very Queensgate of the capital city of Avalon. Enjoin a chase across the hundreds of miles from the bustling metropolis, Avalon to the dark and ominous city of Blacksmoke. Here, at the edge of the Blacksmoke Wood the party will need to negotiate passage to the Earthcut itself. Through the treacherous dark forest, past the patrol zone and to the very chasm itself the PCs will dare.
Once through the treeline, they will come face to face with what evil Kyn is up against...
I'm interested in playing. I have everything necessary, and I love acting; I think this will be a good experience. Do you have some way to apply, or is it just through the reply system on this thread?
thanks for your interest. We are in the initial phases of recruiting PCs for our first run.
Please apply here as you have already. Can you tell us more about your player's experience, general play style and what you think so far about the campaign?
This is very informal BTW. Do you have the technology to play remotely via web? We are working on coordinating recorded sessions and then editing them together as they do for Critical Role and DCA.
I'd like to think that I meet all the requirements other than the stuff for cos.
Overall the campaign sounds pretty interesting, I have a wild magic sorcerer that gained his powers through an encounter with Mephistopheles and is currently going through the Out Of The Abyss campaign so I can see some similar things here. The only real problem I see is that it looks like you're in the states where as I am in Australia so organising times to play would be a very interesting experience haha.
I have been playing D&D 5e for the past year. My experience has mainly been as a Dungeon Master, but I do play every-so-often. I have all of the required tech. I have a web-cam (not laptop cam) and a semi-professional condenser mic (That I use for recording vocal tracks). I'm always looking for reasons to upgrade my tech though. My play-style can vary. Since I love acting, and have been contemplating doing some voice acting, I try to play more character/story oriented. I do appreciate the more mathematical approach to D&D, however it isn't the math, but the story that interests me. Speaking of story, I would love to play a paladin fighting against evil and upholding truth, justice, and honor. I think it would be fun to play a halfling paladin, born into a wealthy family and known for being the dishonorable child. I would become a paladin of the most popular good God of your world in the hope of gaining back honor for my family. Personally, I love the story of Heaven vs. Hell, Good vs. Evil. This story is so compelling, because the same struggle exists inside every one of us. I'm excited to see where this story can progress.
It's really great that you are engaging us. We have worked about a year on the story. The continent of Kyn is well fleshed out for a long series of adventures and they all have to do with this troubled realm which happens to be a favorite recruiting ground for Moloch the Arch Devil. Somehow, Kyn and Avalon herself are intimately connected to Moloch's banishment from Hell 1000 years ago.
Therefore...
A Paladin of Pholtus would be an easy integration to our backstory. I will give you just quick review of the Silver Order, the dominant sect and lifestyle among those devoted to Pholtus. The Knightly Arm, a branch of the Silver Order are well trained and experienced Paladins and horsemen who support them. They go on missions based on the needs of the Silver Priests - they are the Worship Arm and generally control the entire Order. We could easily incorporate just what you have said for your backstory. You can be a member of the Knightly Arm.
We are all about advancing the story, because we plan to develop on online brand for our playgroup. I am the producer of the entire program. I am the original backstory author and world author. We have over 300 written and digital assets for Avalon. We have so much we could found a new Greyhawk level or FRealms. Our DM is amazing, he will keep you on your toes and drive the story home. We have a technical production staff to manage, edit and publish our recorded sessions. We are under a bit of a gag order to share anything concrete yet as this platform may not be conducive to protecting intellectual property, we are checking out the Terms and Conditions.
We need 4-5 more PCs and to set up our tech and we can start right away. I plan to do 1 session per week for the entire party and potential solo or small group interactions between sessions. We plan to have an omniscience concept where 24/7 you can be engaged with the clock running campaign. I should mention, that this campaign is intense and run in real time. That means that when we meet once a week, those hours are real time hours in game. Any time the DM and player(s) interact, real time ticks off in the game. Since some of the second act in this module is an epic chase, which you will love, it makes sense to have a real clock. There is so much more we will share.
We are very excited to get started. If you know anyone else who wants to play, please refer them. My name is David Weiss. I have played since 1981, but mostly stopped playing regularly in 1990. I have desperately tried to return and am very glad that I am. What is your name?
My name is Tylar Salter. I'm just graduating college this coming semester, so I have plenty of free-time. Since this is my last semester, I don't have as much of a credit load. Thank you for your interest.
thanks so much for your interest Travalord. While playing live sessions across the Pacific may be time challenging, we would appreciate any input you may have creatively on the campaign. We may start a ASPAC campaign if this one kicks off quickly and smoothly. In any event, your sorcerer sounds amazingly fun to play. I am fascinated with the hierarchy of Hell and the sequel campaign to Gates of Avalon is centered around travel to Hell.
If you read up the thread you can catch up to the conversation if you haven't already.
Can you describe a bit more about yourself? This thread is a real time history of the founding of our group. So share your details with the rest of the members so far.
We are looking to get 5-6 players who can reasonably meet the criteria and kick off.
From Texas. I used to play D&D as a kid all the time for many years. Have not played in years however but would love to start back up again. I am a scuba instructor and underwater archaeologist. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know.
Good day to you, my name is Tom, and I hail from the desert forest of Utah.
Your proposition has definitely piqued my interested. I have played D&D 5e for over a year now, and more than the mechanics of the game, I have loved creating, developing, and growing characters. "Playing" a character has never been enough for me; when I play I have to BECOME the character. Warren Jadehelm, the thunder cleric dwarf, doesn't speak like I do, nor would he make the same decisions I would. Dale Truanthill, a halfling rogue, is much more of a bastard than I ever would be. While acting the part, I have always wanted to dress the part.
That being said, my IRL job is a set and strict schedule. If you are looking for consistency, I'm your guy. If you're looking for flexibility, that's a negatory, good buddy.
Either way, I look forward to your response.

Ok folks. We are starting to form a group here. Keep in mind, this is a pre-production run of a future publication for the D&D masses. We need a types of players to play this run so we can polish and tighten the campaign as we go. This is the best opportunity for new and seasoned players to get in neck deep.
The story is absolutely fabulous. We have over 200 digital art elements to share with you including a fabulously rendered and interactive model of the capital city of Avalon which will blow you away. 125,000 residents, 25 square miles of districts and neighborhoods and the surrounding area. We have maps, written lore, renderings of NPCs, historical threads and more. Can people who are interested please post an email address so we can connect outside of BDD? I know that this is launching formally in mid August, but we can get you guys involved sooner.
Hello, I'm from Oregon and I would love to join as a player in this campaign. I have about a years experience with D&D 5e and I know the game fairly well. I have experience acting and I have even run a podcast for a short time. I have a flexible schedule and the equipment to shoot/record. As a player I enjoy D&D because of the unlimited ability of the players and DM's to create a unique and expansive story/world. I like to be in the thick of the plot and my personal favorite character to play is a Tiefling Rouge as this lets me play a versatile character who will undoubtable push himself into the story.
My name is Edan Nelson and I look forward to hearing back from you and ecen more so I look forward to joining your adventure!
