Hello, To all my adventurous friends, I have a theoretical monk build aimed at rolling the most dice possible in one round. I am sharing this post to get confirmation of my theory. The only restriction is that my monk cannot receive external help (e.g., spells from another character).
Leveling: Monk: Way of the astralself (TCE) lvl 17
- Flurry of blows (lvl 2): Immediately after you take the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 1 ki point to make two unarmed strikes as a bonus action. - Arms of the astral self (lvl 3): {...} You can use the spectral arms to make unarmed strikes. - Body of the astral self (lvl 11): {...} Empowered Arms. Once on each of your turns when you hit a target with the Arms of the Astral Self, you can deal extra damage to the target equal to your Martial Arts die.
- Awakened astral self (lvl 17): {...} Astral Barrage. Whenever you use the Extra Attack feature to attack twice, you can instead attack three times if all the attacks are made with your astral arms.
Fighter: Brute (UA) lvl 3
- Action surge (lvl 2): {...} On your turn, you can take one additional action on top of your regular action and a possible bonus action.
- Brute Force (lvl 3): {...} Whenever you hit with a weapon that you’re proficient with and deal damage, the weapon’s damage increases by an amount based on your level in this class, as shown on the Brute Bonus Damage table. (1d4)
Magic items: Eldritch claw tattoo (TCE) {...} Eldritch Maul. As a bonus action, you can empower the tattoo for 1 minute. For the duration, {...} your melee attacks deal an extra 1d6 force damage on a hit.
Blood fury tattoo (TCE) {...} Bloodthirsty Strikes. The tattoo has 10 charges {...} When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend a charge to deal an extra 4d6 necrotic damage to the target,
Usage
We assume all astral skills and the Eldritch Claw Tattoo were activated in previous turns.
Now, we can attack 3 times with Awakened Astral Self and use Flurry of Blows to add 2 attacks with a bonus action. Each attack deals 1d10 (Martial Arts die) plus 1d4 (Brute Force), 1d6 (Eldritch Claw Tattoo), 4d6 (Blood Fury Tattoo), and an additional 5 damage (Wisdom modifier).
In total, we have 11d10, 10d4, 50d6 and a bonus of 50 with modifier.
I am not an expert and if I have made errors and misunderstandings with the different texts, tell me, the purpose of this post is precisely for that. Thank you in advance for your help.
