I'm about 5 levels into this monk build playing in out of the abyss and i worked it out with my DM that instead of darkvision i have tremor sense. ive basically been the heavy hitter of the crew dealing the most damage and knocking out the most enemies. My dm also gave me the quarterstaff of warning so im never surprised and i have a higher chance of going first. i also found the boots of speed to be able to get in and get out of the fights instantly. am i creating an OP character
ive never got so much enjoyment playing a character i just want to keep exploring what they do next.
I was gonna say something about the Tremorsense but, after thinking about it, it's really not a big deal. In many cases it's worse than Darkvision since it only works if you and the other creatures are in contact with the same surface/substance. Decent tradeoff and thematic.
I wouldn't say you're creating an OP character, it sounds more like between you and your DM you're creating a fun as heck character.
Nothing is OP if your DM has scaled the challenges to suit. Sounds like you did it right working with your DM from the start with your character creation.
Not OP, like everyone else has said. But I'd keep an eye out to ensure your DM is doing the same sort of thing with the other players - favourites isn't a good look. But I'm sure your DM won't be doing that so I see no problems.
It's if the fighter doesn't have a magic weapon yet that I would worry slightly (as an example).

This sounds like a lot of fun! Your DM sounds like they want to help you do the things you like, which is nice.
Canto alla vita
alla sua bellezza
ad ogni sua ferita
ogni sua carezza!
I sing to life and to its tragic beauty
To pain and to strife, but all that dances through me
The rise and the fall, I've lived through it all!

Chilling kinda vibe.
Well DM scaled battles and Zircon was temporarily killed by a wraith luckily our cleric was able to cast revivify on Zircon.
He came back stronger pissed off destroyed most of the other encounters.
