It's midnight- exactly midnight- and outside of Balios, a collection of lights can be seen in the distance, glittering like fireflies in the dark. This is an odd occurrence, but not a rare one- rumor has it, every night for a few months of the year, from midnight to 1:00 am, you can see the lights while driving on any major road leading into or out of town. Doesn't matter the road or which way you look- you can see them regardless. Outside of that window of time, though, there's nothing there- no lights, no structure of any kind, nothing. There for a brief while and gone again as quickly as it appears.
There is something there, though. Where else would the music be coming from? Why else would there be a faint smell of warm wiring and caramel in the air if one were to follow the lights? Why else is it that the ones who do follow the lights can't remember a thing about what they found come dawn- if they don't vanish before dawn, that is?
That's okay, though. No one would want to remember what they saw at the Fair anyway. Too many arms. No faces. Swarming the place in dozens. Perhaps some things are better left not remembered. Really, though, it doesn't matter either way- at least, not to the Architect- so long as they get a good scare while they're there.

I get smashed with a bottle, I look up at Jared and say: “Now you’ve really done it” *In a demonic voice * I attempt to look bigger then I am by about 10 feet. 11
I am shifting my shadow form to resemble the person he loves most. I say, “Go away. I don’t even know who you are!” I say in her voice. If the words get to him (15 or above seems reasonable.) he will take 1d4 psychic damage.
To Hit: 13
Damage: 3
He yells again. “LEAVE RIGHT NOW OR I SWEAR TO GOD-“
he hits them again with the beer glass. To hit: 4 damage: 2
Alex turns into a shadow and creeps away.
*Boosting up *
Jared looks as he leaves, and, breathing heavily, leans against the wall and tries to calm down.
Next, some goo in a hazmat suit comes in.
“W-what do you need?” He asks, still recovering a bit.
He says, “We’ve received reports of nightmares here. We need to reset the place.” In a flash of light everyone forgets about the events of the nightmares. *Also can we change it to a man in a white suit?*

"No thank you. So, you know how people hate this town? Now, there are a thousand reasons why they would never leave, but surely you've noticed that they just... don't do much? How passively they just lay there? All that resentment... it's gotta go somewhere, doesn't it?"
“You are right… are you that resentment, taken form?”
"Exactly. I am a town so stuck in its comfort zone, controlled by people so desperate for power and wealth that they can't let their only future leave or their storied past live. You live inside my body, drinking my blood and feeding on my food. I digest the people who come here, lulling them into such softness and security they can't find out how to escape. My weapon is procrastination, and my armor is ennui. I know every leaf on every branch on every tree in Balios, and can count the hairs on a spider's legs before they are even hatched. All life in Balios is mine, and I welcome you to my fleeing future, my storied past." He raises his hands and sits down in a nearby chair. "Any questions?"
“Not quite, my dear… I first visited Balios over fifty years ago, and have been here on and off ever since until a few months ago… it is quite peculiar we have not yet met, but I am glad we are now. My turn, then?”
