Steel Dragons are metallic dragons that don't like being in their draconic form, they almost always take human form to live among the normal populations of the world. Steel Dragons have had a hard time reproducing since it's very hard for them to fight each ohter, which has led to a decline in population. Chrysanthemum, the master of Lobelia, is known as the last steel dragon because it's the only one known to be alive. There might be more, but who knows where they are.

That’s some really cool lore.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
Before anything, there was nothing. There was Tiamat. Tiamat was the first. Tiamat, the goddess of the salt sea. Tiamat created the primordial sea, source of all creation. Tiamat had children, shaping them out of the sea. These children were time, space, light, darkness, water, fire, earth, air, and the shifting. The shifting were mysterious creatures that seemed to be amalgamations of everything that never was. Tiamat loved her children. She was the source of the first love. From her love, as well as her children’s emotions, the feywild and the Archfey were formed out of the first nature that was created along with it. And when those emotions faded, the shadowfell was formed. The shadowfell is where emotions literally go to die. And, in the shadowfell, when the first negative emotions were felt, the dark powers, the embodiments of suffering, were formed. Then, Tiamat went into a deep slumber at the bottom of the primordial sea. Then, from the sea, the gods formed. The gods created many things, starting with the material plane, and then the outer planes, which were created in numerous different ways. Still, Tiamat sleeps in the primordial sea, which is tied to a place on the material plane as the only way to access it, called the fountains of creation, which are. Enormous geysers the size of mountains. The gods drove most of the shifting away, seeing them as monstrous. Some of the shifting had children, which eventually became most of the world’s monsters. Tiamat also created the dragons, which spilled forth as wyrmlings from the fountains of creation. Dragons in this world never die of age and can reproduce asexually. Every few decades, the fountains of creation erupt with new monsters never seen before, like new chimeras.
some notable shifting that became more important after the world’s creation: Lucifer, Asmodeus, Satan, Beelzebub, belphagor, Mammon, Leviathan, Ratatoskr, The king in yellow, Cthulhu, Azathoth, Anansi, Cerberus, and Entropy. Some of them pretend to be actual gods, but none of them are less powerful than any true gods.
if you want info on any of the shifting, I can give it to you. These are the only named ones, because they’re the most important.
also, i take a lot of inspiration from mythologies all over the place and kinda blend them together.

Nice, I like some of those entities in the shifting. I often take inspiration from mythology and literature and blend it together too.
Thanks. The first 7 rule hell, with Lucifer being like the leader of hell. They basically hid in a place of their own creation when the gods were trying to drive them away, but eventually made a deal with the gods to keep the souls of the evil dead in exchange for keeping their true nature a secret and to be peaceful with the m. The others have usually hid their nature a secret, like Anansi and Ratatoskr, but some of them don’t care. The shifting all look really different, and every one is completely unique.

Ratatoskr was a squirrel. Besides the fact they had godlike powers and human intelligence, they were a squirrel. They were also born with a seed, that they would eventually plant, which would become Yggdrasil, the world tree. They constantly ran up and down the tree, carrying messages to and from the monstrous inhabitants of it’s branches. They twist these messages for fun to anger the monsters living in the branches. Some theorize that Ratatoskr wants to destroy the world tree, which would cut off all planar travel. Nobody knows. Ratatoskr is a “god” of travel, deception, and conjugation magic. They control all planar travel, as people must pass through the world tree to go from plane to plane. (Besides the shadowfell and feywild) some people worship Ratatoskr, but they are also feared, as anyone who met them would know that their bark is worse than their bite. And their bite is bad. They can also change size to become larger than a car. They are completely invulnerable, but they never willingly leave Yggdrasil. They created the Ratatosks, a race of tiny squirrel celestials that inhabit the branches of Yggdrasil. The Ratatosks often serve as interplanar messengers, and they help Ratatoskr deliver messages. Ratatoskr is also the messenger of the gods, as part of their deal to not be driven away along with the rest of the shifting. Anyone can use Ratatoskr and their spawn as messengers if they can find them. And they are everywhere, listening and watching, to report to Ratatoskr. Ratatoskr secretly hoards hidden information and knowledge, in case they can use it for something they want. Ratatoskr’s cry is said to carry the sting of a thousand insults, seemingly crafted specifically for whoever hears them. The Ratatosks inherited this ability as well, but to a much lesser degree, and they often have to actually craft insults specifically, although they sometimes seem to know what would hurt a certain person most.
thats Ratatoskr, the sly messenger. (Trickery domain for clerics)

House Clarentian is the Royal house of Allegoy, descendant from the original Latsian governors of the city. The previous king of Allegoy, was King Smilodent Clarentian, who ruled with the help of his brother Prince Speleo Clarentian and his wife Queen Gretia North. All three of which died in combat with the Archdevil Glasya. When the King died, he left only daughters. The oldest Acinyx, the middle girl Leona and the youngest Lynuks. The king’s surviving brother, Barbarius Clarentian, schemed with the king’s sisters to take the throne. His plan was however betrayed by his own daughter Felicia Clarentian, who was best friends with her cousin Lynuks. When Lynuks heard she told her sisters and Leona took action. Leona changed her legal status to that of a male and took the throne as King Leona Clarentian. She then performed a bloody culling of the royal family with the help of her uncle Hank North, the great Crimson Knight and the rich merchant Steven Masters who was ennobled for his role. Leona only spared six members of the royal family beside herself. Her sisters, Acinyx and Lynuks, Felicia who had betrayed her father, the twins Tigor and Pantero who she spared on Felicia’s pleas, and Prince Servalo, the son of Speleo who fought with her father.
Tiamat was the original being. She is The goddess of salt water, life, and creation. She was the mother of the universe. She is a mysterious figure, very few people having any information at all about her. She is known in most places as the goddess of the salt sea, and the first. She sleeps at the bottom of the primordial sea, a giant expanse of glittering ocean in which the planes are islands. She takes the form of a mighty dragon, thousands of feet long. If she wakes up, she will reclaim her domain from the gods and sink the world, before devouring the gods. She will topple the gods from their thrones, where they think they are all powerful. She will show them what true power is.
the protogenos
the protogenos, the children of Tiamat, are fundamental parts of the universe. Time, space, light, darkness, fire, earth, water, air. They often mess with mortal lives, causing volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, longer nights, and other events. They are loyal to Tiamat and will help her if she ever wakes up.
the shifting
Also the children of Tiamat, the shifting are all unique horrors with godlike power. They are less loyal to Tiamat, often dealing with or allying with the gods, like Lucifer. Others hide from the gods in the faraway places of the world, like the king in yellow. Others feign godhood, like the clever Anansi. They were hunted and driven away by the gods for the most part, where they hid in the underdark, the clouds, the mountains, or other places. There they had children which became most monsters known today.
the gods
The gods appeared once Tiamat went to sleep. They embody less important things than the protogenos, but are no less powerful. They are personifications of things like war, decay, death, renewal, paradise, trees, volcanoes, certain animals, lighting, and other things. A specific group of 6, known as the Angeli, sit in heaven, where they look after the souls of good people when they die. The Angeli are the most powerful gods, just a bit more powerful than the protogenos, but they still can’t compare to Tiamat. Tiamat is around as powerful as all 6 of the Angeli combined.
Seraph
Seraph is the most powerful Angeli, and the king of all the gods. They are the god of power and radiance. They could single-handedly fight any other being in existence besides Tiamat and win. Even all 5 other Angeli would have trouble fighting him alone. He does as he pleases, and is worshipped almost completely by more than half the world’s nations. While he takes on a less terrifying appearance when talking to mortals, his true form is terrible to behold, seeming humanoid, but their eyes aren’t on their face, but circling their top hat in the air. They also notably have four eyes. They dress like a ringmaster in a circus. His staff has 6 wings and an eye he can also see through. His smile is charming, yet unnerving. No person witnesses Seraph unchanged.
the “gods”
the gods are from the primordial sea. But some mortals, through sheer willpower, as well as devotion of mortals, have ascended to power similar to gods. These are known as overlords, and they are often extremely involved in mortal affairs, acting like royalty for a nation or running a criminal organization spanning kingdoms. They are generally viewed as evil, which is often the case, but not a requirement. Overlords die without worship. They can only become overlords with worship, but an existing god can help them exist without it, by feeding them the prayers they get, because they don’t need them to survive. A god can only do this willingly.

I love it! Very cool. Especially like the parts about Tiamat and Seraph. The shifting are great too. Very Lovecraft-like.

Thanks! Any parts about them you like in particular?
also, i forgot something, Seraph can’t beat the dark powers in a fight if they’re in the shadowfell, since they have almost actual omnipotence in the shadowfell. Seraph could beat any of their avatars though, and that’s most likely to happen since that’s the only way the dark powers interact physically with other planes, since they can’t leave the shadowfell.

I like the fact that Tiamat is like a primordial creator who emerges from the salt sea, I like that with the shifting you make a reference to the King in Yellow and I like that the protogenos are like the fundamental concepts of the universe (I never thought of space as a fundamental concept but I guess it is). And Seraph is just a generally cool concept for a god of radiance.

I kinda wanna post some of my lore here
You should
This is my world’s creation story.
I really like this lore. So do dragons on your world have genders?

Nice, I like some of those entities in the shifting. I often take inspiration from mythology and literature and blend it together too.
No. Maybe. I haven’t decided that yet.
Cool. I might send something about my world soon.
That’s cool. I love the lore. Especially the part about the shifting. I’ve heard of the king in yellow too.

I’d love to!

Nice lore!

House Clarentian of Allegoy
