When running campaigns I have noticed that often players will want to do cooking, alchemy, or other forms of crafting, but this area has only a few general official rules.
So I built a tool for seeing what ingredients can be found in different locations in the world, how to combine them into recipes, and what effects those recipes can have.
An example of using the tool would be, as a DM, your players are walking through a forest and one of them says "I go to forage in the bushes", so you go to https://dndcrafting.com/, then click on "Locations", and then select "Deciduous Forest". You will see a list of Ingredients they can find, and if they find Blueberries, you can click on Blueberries, to see that they can be crafted into Blueberry Pie, which gives the following bonuses
Heal for 1d6
+1d4 on next constitution check
Community
My goal is to build a community around this tool so that we can all together create a full crafting system that is used by lots of players in their DnD campaigns. To give feedback or work together, please join the discord server here https://discord.gg/WUbvxZs
Feedback
I would be very happy to find out that people are using it, and feedback is very much appreciated.
Feedback on recipe balance is awesome, as I want to ensure the items are not weak, but also not overpowered.
Contributors are all welcome. I am still writing a more detailed guide on contributing, but if you have any questions I am happy to answer them here, or on the DnD Crafting discord channel here https://discord.gg/WUbvxZs
Seems that this is pretty under the radar, in short, it looks really good, just needs to be fleshed out, players are always underwhelmed about how much effort they put into something like cooking and they just don't have to use relations for that long rest, instead, you can get extra healing on short rests and buffs for the next combat I think this is a really cool idea.
