I was thinking it could be interesting that makes use of the Aura of Conquest and Intimidating Presence features.
Personally, I think thematically it's cool but mechanically it would be better just to follow through with one class to level 20, considering Paladins and Barbarians get crazy abilities at high levels and good caps. Plus, you can't use spells or wear heavy armor while raging.
Spell slots can still be used for Divine Smite though, I think. Or at least for spells outside of combat.
STR and CON sort of overlap in priority for both classes, although this build may rely more heavily on CHA for pumping up DCs.
With Intimidating Presence, if your opponent fails their save then they can basically be frightened for eternity. Aura of Conquest keeps them rooted in place so they can't escape from you so long as you maintain your Presence over them, and you can still squeeze some attacks in with Frenzy. This probably works best on lone enemies and final confronts with big bads, but there's no limit to how many times you can use your Presence. So you and your friends can all just whale on enemy after enemy.
Not to mention, with a polearm like a halberd or with a bugbear and a sword, you can just whoop melee combatants butts from afar and they can't touch you. Obviously your damage output wouldn't be as optimal, and even though Conquest Paladins are more about control than damage, you still might not be enough to make up for the lost potential damage.
Outside of combat, this Aura/Presence combo can be scary. Conquest Paladins can freeze an entire room and potentially kill a crowd of low-level adventurers with psychic damage. With the Presence, you can make one person pretty much save-or-die without lifting a finger! Make the king beg you for mercy.
