You all find yourselves on the second ring into a series of eight concentric circles. The middle circle is a platform twenty feet wide, with each of the seven rings ten feet thick afterwards. At the top of what would be a "clock," around the mark of 12, stands Salzar, in a clockwise order roughly twenty feet from each other, stand Agui, Locke, Delia, Siddel, and Ardena.
Standing in your places, the tension beginning to rise, the outermost ring begins to spin, defying logic and physics as it turns in a gyroscopic fashion, building up speed until a barrier of crackling blue force sparks to life, and all dimensional pathways close. You are bound to this arena, victory means freedom and a second chance at life, forfeit or defeat means a death more painful and infinite than you could possibly imagine. Welcome to the Rings, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
Locke looked over at the other competitors. While he wasn't usually one for premature judgment, it seemed clear to him that these types were the sort that belonged here in Carceri... not him. Having been tricked into coming to this dimension by a jealous business rival, he now knew what was going on with the strange disappearances of the man's competition. Well, once he was out of here, he'd have to deal with him.
For now though, he closed his eyes and focused his mind, settling into a relaxed, yet readied stance in preparation for what was to come.
(( @DM: Do we get to have a preparation round? Edit: Also, just to double-check my math from your specs: the ring we're currently standing on, if we include all the inner rings and the central platform, is effectively a circle 140 feet in diameter, correct? ))

No prep, combat starts immediately, yes the ring is effectively 140 feet in diameter, which might be a bit too big but it’ll get much smaller soon

Ardena was ready. She's always ready to fight, to kill, to survive. With arrows knocked and at the ready she is the first one to act and she will be the first to draw blood. Her goal being to get out of eye sight of others and pick them off one by one. She surveils the land to find a place that is prime for hiding and concealment aiming to head that way but before that. She notices that each person here is already lined up for her shots. What will happen next will determine a lot of what's to come. It's a free-for-all arena of death and she knew range was her friend. She looks at her competitors determined to slay them but looking for signs of who might be... problematic. With each of them lined up in a circle spaced twenty feet apart she determines she wants to kill the closest one to her left or right first. She tries to perceive which one is the fastest, or wields ranged weaponry and unleashes hell upon them.
Perception to spot ranged weapons of spell implements on the two closest to her 20
If both meet criteria she kills the one to the right of her casting her hunter's mark upon them first then moving away form the others by 40 feet she then unleashes, not one, not two but three arrows in quick succession. (I apologize to whoever this is DM, your call as I don't know who is to the right of Ardena)

To your immediate right is Siddel, to your left Salazar. Salazar appears to be mainly Melee so all attacks go to your right Siddel, who you may or may not have just annihilated with three shots. If Siddel wants to use their Second Wind as a reaction to these shots I'll allow it for the sake of at least giving them a turn. On an unrelated note holy shit.
(Siddel here! Honestly it was an amazing turn! While I appreciate bending the rules a bit and allowing me to use second wind , I wouldn’t want to take away from the brilliance of those rolls so I’ll just read along from here on out. Good luck everyone!)

((So sorry Siddel! Appreciate you being cool about it! It sucks to die so quick in things like this. You are a rock star in my book for taking it so cool.))
Taking three shots directly to the chest, Siddel stumbles back with a short gasp, caught off guard by the sudden hits, they stumble backwards into the crackling energy field, dead before the high speed ring atomizes their body with a high-pitched shriek, never slowing for a second.

Wow. I get off dnd for 5 hours and someone is already down :o
Salazar can feel the energy flowing through him. This must be it. The bloodlust he had been searching for throughout his worthless life, where he-
All of a sudden his moment of peace is interrupted when a scorching ray smashes into his chest, dealing 10 damage. Funny enough though, he doesn't think she's worth dealing with... yet. He sees the already bloodthirsty shifter in rage mode but also checks to see if there is anyone next to him. Perception: 3
If there's no one within his range, Salzar will patiently move 40ft to the closest person besides Agui herself. Bonus action rage and since he's a totem warrior Barbarian, he gains resistance to all damage except psychic. But then again... taking note of the two who haven't taken their turns yet, he decides to aim a javelin for Locke since he looks the closest despite being out of range.
Javelin to hit: 16, Damage: 10 (rodthebard shut your big fat mouth and stop telling me what 2 do u idiot)
Favouritism: the practice of giving unfair preferential treatment to one person or group at the expense of another. People in this forum need to stop this kind of stuff or there will be a truckload of backlash you hear me? Just 1 campaign to be accepted in. That's what the people want. Then we don't have to endure this mess anymore.

Javelin to hit: 16, Damage: 10 (Btw I know no one is concentrating on a spell but Salzar has the mage slayer feat)
(( I'm really starting to hate the in-post dice roller; I guess I'm going to have to be "that guy" for a minute...
IHF, you might want to reroll your javelin to hit Locke; the post isn't showing stats for the numbers. I'm seeing a 16 attack and 10 green (max die roll) damage; while the 16 is feasible and hits, the 10 damage isn't possible: max 1d6 + 3 = 9. If it includes your rage bonus, it still would be 11, not 10. So I'm guessing that wasn't the number the roller originally rolled.
Also... your character sheet says Salzar's a Storm Herald barbarian instead of Totem, and with a different feat? ))
I only picked Storm Herald because Totem Warrior wasn't coming up for me until now. And besides, I hate the dice roller sometimes
Attack: 19 Damage: 8
Locke managed to spot the incoming attack out of the corner of his eye, and quickly moved to intercept it.
REACTION: Using Deflect Missiles to reduce the 8 damage by 14 (if it gets reduce to 0 or less, he'll simply hold onto the javelin instead of throw it back)

OK you two, knock it off. I_Hate_Favoritism, this is supposed to be a fun game and telling others to shut up is unacceptable. RodTheBard, unfortunately for you no one else gives any shits, if all goes well none of you will survive to the finish anyway and a slightly manipulated roll is not something anyone cares about, they likely weren't trying to cheat it's simply that DND Beyond is kinda screwy sometimes. So both of you need to find some empathy, work out whatever pre-existing resentment you might have towards each other, and learn about something called deescalation. If you can't be kind to each other I will have to ask you both to leave. Are we good?

No, not really. For someone suggesting others learn about de-escalation, you sure went from zero to 80 in one post (as did IHF in one rather oddly-timed edit.)
Apologies to everyone, I think it's best that I bow out.
Hi, guys, sorry. My first time playing like this, and I am not enjoying it as much as I thought. I am finding the 'wall of text' a bit too much for me at the moment. I'll give you permission to 'kill' me. Let's call if an act of god. Gl everyone!

You know what you're absolutely right and I apologize for getting riled up so quickly. It was the wrong way to try to defuse the situation and if you feel the need to forfeit from the game I apologize that this is no longer fun for you. I didn't mean to hurt anyone and was trying to make sure everyone knew that kind of behavior was not ok ignoring the fact that it was the exact behavior I was exhibiting. I hope you'll change your mind and choose to stay but understand if you need to leave.

I apologize to you too Delia, this was meant to be a fun experience but I get that the amount of text that comes during a battle is a bit much. Thanks for trying anyway and your character will truly be missed.
Yeah I just saw what was going on in this thread and I'm also bowing out. I didn't come here to witness a gigantic argument over something little. It reminds me of a previous campaign I played in that got ruined all because of a similar event (I wasn't involved but someone killed the mood by doing something as bad as this). Apologies for this.
