Your PC desires to be a monster hunter but relatively new to adventuring. Not to dissuade older PC apps you could have had a background career but only recently heeded the call to hunt monsters! Backstory: Chosen by the Avandra , Kazumo lives his life to protect others dreams and waking life. He was chosen at a young age to be this protector and could often be seen talking to the moon. Though he is ashamed of this limited range of abililites he is often optimistic and prideful that he can even manage that. Kazumo is bright, and happy and often can be obnoxious to be around but in an endearing kind of way. He joined the party to nurture his gift and protect friends from the monsters.

Name: Ghurk Bra'kathu

Background: Soldier
Basic backstory: Ghurk Bra'kathu began life in his rather large bugbear tribe, consisting of around 26 bugbears. He was raised in the harsh manner classic to all bugbears. He was punished when he wasn't good enough, so he made sure that he would always be the best. He excelled at many aspects of, well, being a bugbear. He was a strong fighter, and he was undefeated in his tribe. His tribe eventually merged with a larger clan, consisting of hundreds of bugbears. He was a soldier in the clan's army, like so many others. He was tough, and resilient, and his company was always chosen for the toughest jobs. One day, however, his company bit off more than they could chew. They raided a military outpost; little did they know, it was a trap. One by one his comrades fell, until Ghurk was the last one standing. He continued to fight but eventually, he too was defeated. However, the captain of the ambushers told his soldiers to capture the bugbear, for he recognized that Ghurk was easily the strongest. They hauled him off to a dungeon, but within just a week, he managed to escape. He broke his bonds and surprised everybody by attacking the enemies who dared to capture him, rather than running away. In the end, he managed to escape. He managed to get his hands on some equipment, and he now is looking to start a new life, as an adventurer.
Backstory: Sorath is the youngest of 6. As such he was not groomed to do much of anything. Thus he drifted through life till he found music. After much begging he was granted leave to go to bards college. Now graduated, he is looking for an adventuring party he can join to start gathering materials to create his own songs.
Sorath now wants two things. Have adventurers worthly of song and then create said songs.

Backstory: Arrested after the Chroma Crisis for aiding Umbrasyl, Hock spent a few years in the locks and stocks. After serving his time he has tried to find work, but has yet to land a steady income. He has it in his head to try and rejoin the herd, but traveling alone in this part of Tal'Dorei is suicidal. So he bides his time trying to find a group he can trust to help him find his forever family... And a little coin and glory along the way couldn't hurt

You'd never guess, being an outsider yourself, how much the fey world has pigeonholed each species into their expected roles. For example, did you know that most Satyr are trained from childhood to be entertainers of one sort or another? Nobriki always dreamed of being a reknowned warrior and to join in the Great Hunt. He practiced in secret deep in the forest at night. When he tried to join the hunt, King Oberon, laughed and shooed him away! Determined to prove him wrong, Nobriki headed off into the world to one day become a hunter known far and wide. He knows he cannot do it alone quite yet, and so hopes to find a band of companions to grow and hunt with, and Westruun seems as good a place as any to start his journey!
Background is Entertainer, with his lucky War Gong.

Basic back story: A changeling who normally takes the form of a human male called Fox (although he does have a surprising alter-ego!) Fox is a gentle soul. An orphan, he was indentured to a brutish blacksmith and his even more viscious wife who treated him as little more than a slave. As soon as he was old enough and had paid his dues, he took off and became something of a recluse and a healer. The fact that he doesn't hide that he is a changeling has caused him problems all his life, but the locals are happy to visit the weird one in the hills when they need help. Having taken in a badly injured man, a follower of Avandra, he embraced the ways of the Changebringer and has finally stepped out of the shadows to find his own adventure.
Also have a hankering to play Maletor Belladictus. A youth who has started his psi warrior fighter training before his hexblood origins became known to all and he was shunned by his village. Now he has a personal vendetta against the evil creatures of this world and hopes to one day take the head of the hag who cursed him to this life. He's looking for others that he feels are at his level of competency to join him in the quest of fighting dark beasts for gold, glory, and personal redemption.
I saw there was a couple fighters already though, so I was happy to go a deterrent direction with Nobriki the paladin.
Backstory: Blair knew he was special since he was very little. He could close his eyes and see from other people’s senses, he could hear people’s thoughts, he could see in the dark. But those things mattered little to him - he was loved by both of his parents. His mother’s tender caresses, his father’s gentle smile while regarding him - he was a gift, a miracle, a blessing, bestowed on them by ancient magic, a clandestine bargain struck with a night hag, whom they would bring up to fortune and happiness.
Everyday Blair received lessons of patience, charity, and generous love. He remembered losing his temper only once, when the neighbor’s kid mocked him, calling his mother a cheating tramp, saying Blair looked nothing like his wrinkled, shrunken father. It was true Blair’s parents had only had him in their late 40s, and his fair skin, his blue eyes, all so different from his parents, but Blair never doubted his birth. Something came over him in a rush, a power greater than his own, he could feel his teeth getting longer and sharper, too large for his mouth, his eyes burning like fire. The other kid ran away screaming, and his father grabbed him and yanked him back inside the house. It was that day he knew his true origin, an unholy creation of a hag’s eldritch magic. Something broke in him then. The green eldercross on his forehead that his parents told him it was a birthmark, the countless nightmares of a hideous creature claiming his soul, they all had an explanation. Blair didn’t care if they were truly his parents, but he could not bear the lies. It was a great wound that they had left on his heart that'll never heal fully.
Blair had always been gentle, but after that day, he felt more distant, alienated. He spent more and more time outside the house. He learned to use charming smiles and sweet words to make friends and keep his loneliness at bay. At seventeen, he met an enthralling young man his own age. Sa’ar, a half-elf and an illegitimate child of the patriarch of his family. Sa’ar had six half-siblings—four sisters and two brothers, few of which really acknowledged him. He had travelled away from his home in Emon to pursue his dreams. He told Blair many stories across Tal'Dorei where he and his family had travelled. From Sa’ar, Blair picked up how to play the flute, how to tell tales, and how to win over people’s hearts, just as Sa’ar did his. Sa’ar told Blair his dream of becoming a monster hunter, and they promised they would go on adventures together. But news came, Sa’ar’s father arranged a marriage for him. Sa’ar had a choice to make: stay with Blair and flee his home or honor his family’s wishes. Sa’ar painfully chose the latter, fearing he had no other choice. Alone again, Blair still decided to continue on their dream of adventures. He would forget his past and start anew. And Westruun is as good a place to start as any.
Backstory: Quatt does not know how he came to be alone in the dark damp cave, it was the first place he remembers from he was younger. He remembers feeling alone, with only the cold dark walls of the cavern around him. But as he gained the courage to get up and explore he discovered a light and thinking it was his way out he moved towards it, only to discover a cavernous room lit with mushrooms. Some small, some larger than himself, but all of them glowing mushrooms. And then some of them moved towards him, this was when he was found by the Myconid scouts of a nearby settlement. They took him in, taught him how to use the fungus for a variety of purposes, it was there he grew up, amongst the Myconids and their mushrooms. Luckily this settlement also traded with some gnomes, they would tell stories of the outside world to him when they visited and so eventually, wanting to to see what lied beyond the caves, Quatt decided to join the gnomes one year, bidding his Myconid family goodbye. The gnomes led Quatt to the outside world where he was astonished by what he saw. He always had a mind of curiosity and he very much wanted to see this world he had seen almost none of, and so when he heard of adventurers and what they did he knew he had to become one.
Backstory: Selinae was abandoned as a child when the Herd was routed from Westruun, she was adopted by an elven/halfling couple and brought up by them, her mother hoped that she would follow in her footsteps of gardening and painting but Selinae ( named after her adoptive mothers mother) had little aptitude for either and her fathers business as a beer and cider merchant was also not really well suited to a lanky girl who banged her head whenever she tried to enter a cellar or had to bend almmost double when dealing with his mostly halfling and gnome clientele.
Selinae found work on building sites and in warehouses, fetching and carrying and even learning a bit about door construction, latches and the like from Cussmunch the dwarven chippy on site. A lot of her coworkers chortle when she shows up in her dungarees or summer dress and gardening boots but they soon stop as she carries prodigious amounts easily up ladders and scaffolding.
Perpetually happy and greets everyone with a smile, she is a ray of sunshine.....but not a particularly bright one....
But people have been going missing off the site, and there were strange tracks.......she never got to the bottom of it but she knew there must be other monsters out there...hurting people who couldn't defend themselves.....and that just wasn't right!
Thoradin has always had an interest in crafting. And like many of his kind, he became a smith. While most dwarfs use heavy weapons such as an axe or a hammer, he made blades, because they sold better to races such as humans and elves. He's passionate about his work and makes beautiful designs on all his blades. Wavy blads with serpentine designs, broad blades fit for a goliath warrior, thin daggers made for the stealthiest assassins. But has always wanted a life of adventure. And he always loved travel. He travels to kingdoms all over, making and selling his blades. He makes great riches off of his blades, but he doesn't want riches, he wants fame. So he spends all his riches on the finest metal, making unique blades that all adventurers want. His clan was honored greatly as the clan of beautiful weaponry. But this wasn't enough for Thoradin. He wanted to bring honor beyond crafting, and in order to be honored, he wanted to go into battle and put a stopper on evil. So he set off to hunt monsters. This will not only bring great honor to his clan but give him what he needs to take his blades to the next level. Dragon scales for unique handle designs, vampire blood to make a blade more deadly against flesh. His elders liked this idea, and he set off to find a quest. There were no important wars going on, but there were monsters everywhere. Hearing about groups hunting monsters, he decided to help fight, putting his blades too good use.

A little more about the 'hiring' adventuring party. The leader of the adventuring party Calamity's End is a co-role by satyr artificer, Vance Glitterdew, and aarakocra divination wizard, Hawkeye Abrego, who have a wonderful 'headquarters' in Westruun in the Opal Ward. Backstory. Born to Saradie a grave domain cleric. Eron’s father Nathan a necromancer bent on creating a body to possess, used magic on Saradie to conceive Eron. Saradie escaped to a secluded woodland where she raised Eron to the age of 8 at which point she left mysteriously. Eron survived on his own until a militia unit conscripted Eron as a soldier. Eron’s limited knowledge of his origin as well as his mother’s disappearance has led him to retire from military service in order to pursue a more open lifestyle as an adventurer.
Please if you can accept the company of a fatherless deserter abandoned in the woods by his mother, somewhat dim witted ranger. Eron will faithfully protect and spearhead whatever endeavors an adventuring party might pursue.
Eron’s childhood is possibly from somewhere within the Bramblewood.

Sa’ar had a choice to make: stay with Blair and flee his home or honor his family’s wishes. Sa’ar painfully chose the latter, fearing he had no other choice. Alone again, Blair still decided to continue on their dream of adventures. He would forget his past and start anew. And Westruun is as good a place to start as any.

Name: Quatt
Class: Druid (Circle of Spores)
Backstory: Quatt does not know how he came to be alone in the dark damp cave, it was the first place he remembers from he was younger. He remembers feeling alone, with only the cold dark walls of the cavern around him. But as he gained the courage to get up and explore he discovered a light and thinking it was his way out he moved towards it, only to discover a cavernous room lit with mushrooms. Some small, some larger than himself, but all of them glowing mushrooms. And then some of them moved towards him, this was when he was found by the Myconid scouts of a nearby settlement. They took him in, taught him how to use the fungus for a variety of purposes, it was there he grew up, amongst the Myconids and their mushrooms. Luckily this settlement also traded with some gnomes, they would tell stories of the outside world to him when they visited and so eventually, wanting to to see what lied beyond the caves, Quatt decided to join the gnomes one year, bidding his Myconid family goodbye. The gnomes led Quatt to the outside world where he was astonished by what he saw. He always had a mind of curiosity and he very much wanted to see this world he had seen almost none of, and so when he heard of adventurers and what they did he knew he had to become one.
Selinae Lioli

Backstory: Selinae was abandoned as a child when the Herd was routed from Westruun, she was adopted by an elven/halfling couple and brought up by them, her mother hoped that she would follow in her footsteps of gardening and painting but Selinae ( named after her adoptive mothers mother) had little aptitude for either and her fathers business as a beer and cider merchant was also not really well suited to a lanky girl who banged her head whenever she tried to enter a cellar or had to bend almmost double when dealing with his mostly halfling and gnome clientele.
Selinae found work on building sites and in warehouses, fetching and carrying and even learning a bit about door construction, latches and the like from Cussmunch the dwarven chippy on site. A lot of her coworkers chortle when she shows up in her dungarees or summer dress and gardening boots but they soon stop as she carries prodigious amounts easily up ladders and scaffolding.
Perpetually happy and greets everyone with a smile, she is a ray of sunshine.....but not a particularly bright one....
But people have been going missing off the site, and there were strange tracks.......she never got to the bottom of it but she knew there must be other monsters out there...hurting people who couldn't defend themselves.....and that just wasn't right!

Artificer - Weapon Smith (specializes in blades)
Thoradin has always had an interest in crafting. And like many of his kind, he became a smith. While most dwarfs use heavy weapons such as an axe or a hammer, he made blades, because they sold better to races such as humans and elves. He's passionate about his work and makes beautiful designs on all his blades. Wavy blads with serpentine designs, broad blades fit for a goliath warrior, thin daggers made for the stealthiest assassins. But has always wanted a life of adventure. And he always loved travel. He travels to kingdoms all over, making and selling his blades. He makes great riches off of his blades, but he doesn't want riches, he wants fame. So he spends all his riches on the finest metal, making unique blades that all adventurers want. His clan was honored greatly as the clan of beautiful weaponry. But this wasn't enough for Thoradin. He wanted to bring honor beyond crafting, and in order to be honored, he wanted to go into battle and put a stopper on evil. So he set off to hunt monsters. This will not only bring great honor to his clan but give him what he needs to take his blades to the next level. Dragon scales for unique handle designs, vampire blood to make a blade more deadly against flesh. His elders liked this idea, and he set off to find a quest. There were no important wars going on, but there were monsters everywhere. Hearing about groups hunting monsters, he decided to help fight, putting his blades too good use.

The leader of the adventuring party Calamity's End is a co-role by satyr artificer, Vance Glitterdew, and aarakocra divination wizard, Hawkeye Abrego, who have a wonderful 'headquarters' in Westruun in the Opal Ward. Backstory. Born to Saradie a grave domain cleric. Eron’s father Nathan a necromancer bent on creating a body to possess, used magic on Saradie to conceive Eron. Saradie escaped to a secluded woodland where she raised Eron to the age of 8 at which point she left mysteriously. Eron survived on his own until a militia unit conscripted Eron as a soldier. Eron’s limited knowledge of his origin as well as his mother’s disappearance has led him to retire from military service in order to pursue a more open lifestyle as an adventurer.

Please if you can accept the company of a fatherless deserter abandoned in the woods by his mother, somewhat dim witted ranger. Eron will faithfully protect and spearhead whatever endeavors an adventuring party might pursue.
