Hello, I am looking for a player because one of mine left, and we are kinda in need of a character who's expertise is stealth and thievery. The player who left was a Monk/Way of the Shadow. Anywho, if you can make a character that at least meets the whole stealth and thievery part, you're fine, but if anything a Rogue or a Monk/Way of the Shadow would be more favorable. Here is the current party
Jashin 'The Seeker' Shinhan, a wood elf who follows the class Monk/Way of the Cobalt Soul
Brecon, a fairy who follows the Warlock/Archfey class
Gygerax, a feywild faerie dragon who follows the Warlock/The Celestial class
Fluffy, a tabaxi who follows the Barbarian/Path of the Beast class
Mithrellan, a elf who follows the Ranger/Hunter class
Noxus, a Tiefling who follows the Fighter/Champion class
Here is a description of our campaign
Jashin knew that the goblins would return. But no one, not even his fellow councilmen would listen to him. 227 years, later, Jashin's visions became true. The goblin army had regrouped and prepared for many years to once again wage war on the Feywild, and the Feywild, unprepared and weakened from a long time of peace, is slow to react. The goblin army first began it's conquest in the Forest of Wonders, and any towns or nearby civilizations that were near had either managed to evacuate in time, or was taken by surprise by the goblins. Some of them managed to to fight back, but they would not be able to hold the goblins back for long. Jashin received a message of distress and a cry for help from the town of Dolsela, and Jashin decided that if the Feywild was not quick enough to save these people, Jashin would instead do it himself. So he gathered a small group of legendary warriors, and together, they will attempt to save the town, but even if they succeed in this mission, this one is just the first of many.

Background: I first met Jashin when I was a little brat and tried to pick his pocket. He grabbed me by my ears, MY EARS I SAY. Well, for what ever reason he took pity on me. Said he saw something in me and I started to train with him as a Monk. Then he gets this message and off he goes. I wanted to go, but he said I was too young and to keep training.
Backstory: Urgoth was born in strange circumstances and doesn't really know much about his parents as he was raised by a group of criminals that consisted of others with mixed ancestry. Due to talking moreafter his elven heritage then his orcish, he was chosen to learn the ways of being a thief. He quickly picked up on this but found it rather boring, instead going off on his own to sell his services to the highest bidder. He would be taken in by a large guild and taught to work in the Underground areas of the city, a battle ground for all the various criminal elements.
In order to work in secret he was trained in the ways of an Underdark ranger, becoming invisible to those that relied on darkvision to do their work. Urgoth would spend nearly two decades doing this, working his way up to become the right hand man of the Guildmaster, serving as both his top thief and assassin. One such mission sent him after a person of interest that turned out to be the great Monk Jashin. After a brief fight, Urgoth was defeated but managed to impress Jashin with his skills. The monk let him go, but due to failing in his mission Urgoth was not able to return to the guild. Still he felt as though he owed Jashin a debt for sparing his life and offered to help if the need ever arose.

Tyr Wildclaw was born to a tribe of tabaxi in a dense jungle. From a young age, he showed a natural affinity for stealth and thievery, using his feline agility to sneak past guards and pilfer food and treasures from neighboring tribes.
As he grew older, Tyr became more skilled in his craft, eventually leaving his tribe to pursue a life of adventure and riches. He traveled far and wide, using his natural charm and cunning to make friends and allies, and his skills as a thief to survive in the dangerous world beyond the jungle.
One day, Tyr found himself in a particularly precarious situation. He had been hired to steal a valuable artifact from a wealthy nobleman, but he soon discovered that the nobleman was also a powerful mage. Cornered and outmatched, Tyr thought his time had come, but then a mysterious figure appeared out of nowhere to aid him in his escape.
The figure was Jashin, a wood elf monk who had been traveling through the area on a pilgrimage. Jashin had been drawn to Tyr's situation and had intervened to help him out of a sense of compassion and duty. Impressed by Jashin's courage and skill, Tyr asked him to become his mentor and teach him the ways of martial arts.
Jashin agreed, and the two of them set out together on a series of adventures, combining Tyr's expertise in thievery with Jashin's mastery of the martial arts. Over time, they became close friends and trusted allies, relying on each other to survive in a dangerous and unpredictable world.
However, as time passed, Tyr and Jashin began to realize that their goals and desires were diverging. Tyr still craved adventure and riches, while Jashin felt a deepening sense of obligation to devote himself fully to his spiritual practice.
In the end, they decided to part ways, with Jashin returning to his monastery to continue his studies, and Tyr striking out on his own to seek his fortune in the world. Despite their parting, Tyr never forgot the lessons he learned from Jashin, and he continued to rely on his mentor's teachings throughout his future adventures as a rogue and thief.
Interesting. I've been wanting to try a monk, and it would definitely be attractive to try one out by jumping right to 13th level! Is the idea that we start with the rolled ability scores and then apply the 3 levels of ASIs when we build the character?

Name: Ixsas
Race: Yuan-ti
Class/Subclass: Monk/Way of Shadow
Background: Urchin
Backstory(include also how you met the Great Monk Jashin):
Ixsas has a longer backstory, but the gist of it is that he was an orphan and street urchin in a bustling port city at the edge of a jungle. One day, he was caught stealing from a shadar-kai elf. Ixsas was kidnapped and taken to the Shadowfell, where he eventually began training as a monk. After years of training, the master of the monastery met with Ixsas one day and said that the Raven Queen had a special mission for him. The Raven Queen foretold that a war would be coming to the Feywild in the future, and the Shadar-Kai would be able to reap many souls for their queen. Ixsas was told to follow a raven guide, who would lead him to the Feywild, where he would prepare for the coming war...
One day, Jashin's meditation on the possibility of future war with the goblin armies was interrupted by the sound of a raven landing noisily on a tree branch nearby. He recognized that it wasn't a regular raven, but it didn't feel like a fey spirit. The raven stared at him knowingly, its dark feathers seeming to gather the shadows around it. It cawed loudly, and then a tall young...man?...stepped into view. His nose was oddly flat, and the pale skin of his face, head, and shoulders was scaly, not smooth. The scales were a rather bright green, like leaves in the sunlight. There also appeared to be dark spots or holes along the ridge of where his nose should have been. "Yuan-ti. One of the snake people, not a human," thought Jashin. Between his very pale skin and the green scales covering him, the man had a very sickly look.
The yuan-ti carried a long, straight spear, and he moved with a kind of grace and hidden power that was familiar to Jashin. He stopped a short distance away from Jashin, under the tree where the raven sat perched. He bowed formally, and said, "The Raven Queen -- may she reap many souls! -- offers you my service." He then kneeled on the ground, bowed his head, raised his hands over his head, and offered up his spear across his palms. Jashin didn't know what to make of it. Why would the Raven Queen send this monk to him? How did she even know about him?
Jashin took the spear, and when the man looked up, he saw something in the man's eye: a sad, beseeching look that touched his heart. In his wisdom, Jashin knew that this young man needed him more then he needed whatever service was being offered. Jashin bowed and then offered his hand. The raven, its mission complete, cawed and took flight.
Ever since then, Ixsas has trained at Jashin's monastery. It was weeks before he smiled, but soon after that, he was heard laughing. This was the first place that had felt like a real home to him, and Ixsas made fast progress. Ixsas idolized Jashin and became almost fanatical in his enthusiasm. He truly believed that Jashin could do no wrong.
Jashin was saddened to find that Ixsas's training had progressed too far for him to be trained in the Way of the Cobalt Soul. Or maybe it was his years of exposure to the Shadowfell? Ixsas trained with Jashin's other students, but he continued to practice techniques that he originally learned on that plane, developing strange powers over darkness and shadows. But as time progressed, and the war grew ever closer, Jashin began to see how he could use Ixsas and his unique abilities. This student could be a useful weapon in the war that now seemed inevitable.
Final edit to add winged boots. It's only uncommon, but it seemed like a good solution in case we encounter flying opponents.
FYI - after you mentioned it, I read up on the Way of Shadow. Aside from a stealthy thief (+15 on Stealth checks + cloak of shadows ability), I built Ixsas so that he could cast darkness on a group of opponents, shadow step to that darkness, and use his devil's sight to fight normally within that darkness. That would give opponents disadvantage (unless they are proficient at blindfighting), and Ixsas would be able to attack with advantage, which also increases chances for critical hits on his 3 to 4 attacks per round.
Even if Ixsas is not selected, it was fun putting that build together!
Really, his biggest weakness now seems to be bright light. "The yellow face! We hates it!" 😉
Backstory: Heiric was contracted to patrol trade roads that weren't typically patrolled by local guards. Heiric learned quick that these routes were popular with bandits but just not reported so the patrols never prioritized them. Always out numbered, Heiric learned to honed his bow skills to utilize distance as his counter being one against many. Over time he learned the best trees and cover to sit in and watch the path way such that he was never in the same place each day and the bandits couldn't find him (or know if he was around or not). Eventually word had spread of the wood archer that seemed to be everywhere at once on his pathway. He also became very good at finding bandits he didnt catch in the act and removing stolen items and returning them to rightful owners if he coukd locate. Eventually it became known that this was one of the safest paths to travel and became a more and more popular trade route, so popular that the local guards were assigned to start patrolling it and he's services were no longer needed and in a budget cut, his contract was ended. But his reputation still exists in travelers and bandits alike. Heiric decided to take his skills and see the world a bit more then his one forest.
In his attempts to return wrongfully obtained items, he met Jashin while trying to find the intended recipients.
