Off the coast of the Six Lands of Shimeria lies an island named VividWest, a beautiful place ruled by the young Chief Rechel, with a volcano that hasn’t erupted since the island’s creation, lush forests, and a cove where you can find the rarest of creatures, or at least that is how it looks, there are monsters all over the uninhabited parts, crimes littering the city, and a dark secret yet to be revealed.
This is a lv.3 pbp campaign for 3-8 players conducted by a newer DM, and is heavy in roleplay. Homebrew is allowed, but Milestone Leveling, Artificer class, and rolled ability scores are banned. If you want to join, leave a comment and your character sheet (does not need a link).
I'd like to get in on this. I'll be using a fighter for this one and here's the link. There's still a few kinks to work out like a feat and whatnot but I can give you a fleshed out backstory if you'd like. Here's the link. https://ddb.ac/characters/21392285/pprLEn
i wish to play an lizardfolk, but i will have to decide class later, cleric, druid, blood hunter, something spiritual at least. Or maybe bard?
anyways he shall be known as tek, the holy, tregardless of what class or race i choose, his character will be in this document his character sheet

i am soup, with too many ideas (all of them very spicy) who has made sufficient homebrew material and character to last an thousand human lifetimes
okay so are there any supernatural entities one could make a pact with in VividWest? any mages beyond death, long sealed away fiends, imprisoned celestials, fey lords of the forest? shrines to dark elder evils, highly powerful magic weapons from the shadowfell? profane soul subclass demands an suitably potent patron
Subclass demands, yes, supernaturals are very hard to find here, but there is a gate to a homemade plane. (Whole different Multiverse, all new planes), and there are two evil mages.
Backstory: Gurok, son of Gorog, is a proud member of the Blackfist Clan - a loose collection of chieftains that dwell deep within the forests of VividWest. A skilled scout and hunter, the Barbarian always hungered to know what lies beyond his tribe's land. Scouting each day, exploring further and further, he eventually discovered civilization beyond his Homeland. Learning the language and customs of these strange peoples, he returned to his Clan with this knowledge, only to be cast out for heresy. He now explores the island that he loves, offering his knowledge and services as a guide, scout, hunter and sellsword when times are tough.
Backstory: Orosh was a prodigy, mastering the arcane from an early age, showing himself to be bright, intelligent, decisive and quick-thinking; he was also impatient and that was his main reason for gravitating towards the school of Evocation, where he excelled.
Orosh would go on to work as a renowned sage's apprentice, studying the secrets of magic, until he met a fellow sage, a young woman who he quickly fell for, and to this day they are in a happy, stable relationship. She is currently embarking on an adventure of her own, while Orosh is out searching for and looking to unlock more secrets to the arcane, yet they keep in constant contact over long-distance methods both mundane and magical. One day, they will meet again and build a life together.
If there isn't a Rogue, or someone at least Proficient with Thieves' Tools, Gurok will take a level of Rogue when he levels up. Just standard starting equipment, or can Gurok talk you out of some spending money? Or perhaps a Shield and some Armor? lol
Edit: Looks like ArtificeMeal also has the Outlander Background, so maybe Gurok will take Urchin instead for Thieves' Tools Proficiency.
I'll be playing the resident fighter. If anyone wants to weave in their character's history to Tyr's, just let me know. He's a retired mercenary from a prominent group turned part time bounty hunter. Here's to a good campaign. :)
(time to begin) On an island in the Six Lands of Shimeria lies VividWest: a land of pure adventure, tourism, and paradise. Yet, crime and terror is is about to fulfill a secret prophecy of doom, it could cause terror and bloodshed to forever haunt the island, Chief Rechel seeks adventurers to try to stop the prophecy of doom before its too late.
Everyone is starting at the port that is just outside the capital city: Port City. The port has many crates and a ferry boat about to leave, someone at a desk is waiting impatiently.
Orosh approached the desk tentatively, his amber-topped staff strapped to his back along with his small travel backpack. He stopped a few paces away from the desk, respecting the clerk's personal space, arms hanging by his sides in a neutral manner. "Greetings." He would wait a moment or two for their response. "How long until the ferry boat leaves from here? I am waiting on a couple of acquaintances to join me." He spoke with a cultured, Victorian British accent despite being born into the middle class. The blue-skinned Vedalken obviously had a very good education growing up.
Orosh's travels and search for secrets to the arcane had landed him here in Vividwest, where he had quickly picked up on rumours that would quite strongly hint towards more adventure to be had, more secrets to be unearthed. The tall, well-built Vedalken was never one to turn down an opportunity to grow and prosper in himself, and so that eventually had led him here, after briefly meeting up with and forming a party with a ragtag group of individuals at the local inn, the logical destination when looking for companions to adventure with.
(I didn't specify, Port City is the capital city of VividWest, you are in VividWest those of you who are from foreign lands just arrived) the cleric says "That ferry departs in one minute" just then, it pulls away "maybe I was off, those rumors are everywhere, everyone is talking about the prophecy of doom, and I hear there's a tournament at the colluseum on the outskirts of Port City, if you win, you'd get some good Ruby Tokens (RT, replaces gold pieces)."
The Vedalken nodded in response to the information. Ruby tokens were always useful, to acquire nutrition, travel gear and afford lodgings, and yet his travels have thus left him lean of purse. He considered himself competent in battle and the Coliseum seemed like a lucrative prospect with which to replenish his funds.
"Prophecy of doom, you say? Pray tell, what does this prophecy entail, exactly? I have heard that Vividwest is a place of peace and prosperity." Upon closer observation, the people going about their lives in the port did seem rather on edge. "Perhaps me and my new companions will stay to investigate. What do I call you?"
((I forgot to mention, I'm picking Battlemaster as my fighter archetype but I don't have the modules or something for that. Also... He likes to smoke a beef jerky smelling cigarettes called Meatsticks. It's like smoking except you're eating almost half of what you smoke and it tastes like jerky. I just quit smoking so don't judge. XD))
Tyr Morguath had spent the better parts of the past few months travelling around the land and taking on hunting jobs here and there. The life of a wandering adventurer was a life that kept one on the move at a near constant pace. After hearing about world ending rumors, he decided to simply get on board at the toss of a coin. That, and the thought of working with other individuals was a welcome change of pace.
One of his travelling companions called Orosh was a quick one with words as he stood within earshot, smoking one of his Meatsticks casually. He looked like a person who wouldn't bat an eyelash before shooting you and he looked the part well as he strode silently beside Orosh.
"If it's money you need, I'm fine lending you a few tokens." Tyr gruffed as he exhaled cured meat smoke from his nostrils. "You'll owe me time and a portion of your share on some bounties though. Speaking of that..."
Tyr looked at the clerk with his one good right eye this time and grinned. "Any place I can find for bounties around here by any chance? I prefer the thrill of the hunt rather than fighting in some arena."
