Swarmkeepers push ability specifically says 15 feet horizontal in any direction
Openhand monks ki push says 15 feet away from you.
So technically Open Hand monk can do a vertical/diagonal push? I'm kinda visualising it like a Shoryu Ken uppercut punch. Would be nice to also get some extra falling damage on the target.
Only if you were directly underneath the target could "away from you" mean "up". Given the way squares work, this would be rare.
The Swarmkeeper specifies "horizontally" because it allows you to move the target in any direction by 15 feet. The Open Hand "push" is a simpler forced movement where you don't choose the direction; the direction is "away" and the horizontal is implicit because "away" on a 2D battlemap is straightforward.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.
To figure out which direction is "away from you," draw a straight line from you through your target. The target moves along that line.
