As the title says, I'm just really on the fence of choosing a good class for my shifter. I am trying to move away from Druids and Rangers, which are my go-to classes recently.
I've been using the OneD&D ruleset because I love the changes they've done with a lot of the classes, and especially recently with barbarians and rogues. Here are my ideas.
1: Wildhunt Barbarian. This one is because of the synergy between Wildhunt and Reckless Attack. Wildhunt makes it to where things cannot attack you at advantage if you are shifted, and reckless letting you attack with advantage, but enemies get to attack at advantage as well. This combo is totally a power game move as every attack can be at advantage, but you can never be attacked with advantage as long and the enemy is within 30ft.
2: Swiftstride Rogue: The bonus speed would work fantastically with rogue. While shifted, you gain +10ft extra movement, then as a reaction can move up to half of your speed without opportunity attacks if an enemy ends their turn within 5ft of you. New rogues look super fun to play with the new Cunning Strike ability. This one is less of a power move but seems just as fun though notably weaker because less synergy. However, the 10ft extra movement would work fantastically with the new Weapon Masteries, dash and disengage, and flavor of being a werewolf character.
What combo would you recommend, and what other class/race combos would you want to try?
