Reading yesterday the question "Level 5 Goliath damage output" on RPG Stack Exchange and some comments there, I noticed not everyone agrees on whether the damage from Fire's Burn and Frost's Chill (Goliath traits) is included when landing a Critical Hit.
Fire’s Burn (Fire Giant). When you hit a target with an attack roll and deal damage to it, you can also deal 1d10 Fire damage to that target.
Frost’s Chill (Frost Giant). When you hit a target with an attack roll and deal damage to it, you can also deal 1d6 Cold damage to that target and reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn.
I would also have to say no, since it does not specify that you "deal an additional" amount of damage, but rather you "also deal", sounding like it is a separate source.
Dreadful strike, hunters mark, Smite, all work on a critical hit. Why would a damage dice that you roll with a successful melee attack not work with a crit? Sounds like yall just want to deny the little extra damage.
They do crit otherwise smite dont crit either and the rules say Roll all of the attack’s damage dice twice and add them together. Then add any relevant modifiers. See also chapter 1 (“Damage and Healing”). well all the damage is part of the attack it dont say roll weapon dice twice or anything. , all builds you see by colby , treantmonk , dungeon dudes who all do talk with the designers assume they crit
Until the spell ends, you deal an extra 1d6 Force damage to the target whenever you hit it with an attack roll.
Divine Smite
The target takes an extra 2d8 Radiant damage from the attack.
Sneak Attack
Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack roll if you have Advantage on the roll and the attack uses a Finesse or a Ranged weapon.
Fire's Burn
When you hit a target with an attack roll and deal damage to it, you can also deal 1d10 Fire damage to that target.
The difference in wording seems quite intentional

Well i think they are wrong fireburns is appart of the damage , its says all damage it just have the condition that if ur target lowers the first initial damage to 0 with the help of resistance , damage reduction and so on then you can not put it on. Did ask the question to some of the optimizers that are sometimes asked to build for wotc so i will see what they think
@quadhund If I make 1 attack with a longsword as a part of casting Green Flame Blade, while having the Hex spell affecting the target, and then I use Divine Smite once the attack hits, how many damage rolls are there? @JeremyECrawford When something in the game (Sneak Attack, Divine Smite, hex, etc.) causes your attack/spell/etc. to deal extra dice of damage, those dice are added to the damage the effect is already dealing, if any. It's one big damage roll, extra damage included. @DaveWil33 Would only be a second damage roll if there was something locked behind a save like poison damage, yes? @JeremyECrawford If an attack has a damage roll but also a second damage roll (not extra damage) that is contingent on a saving throw, the damage of that second source is a different damage roll from the first. @RubiksMoose how do you distinguish between second damage roll and extra damage? @JeremyECrawford Separate damage rolls are delivered by separate attack rolls, saving throws, or other processes. Extra/bonus/additional damage is called extra/bonus/additional damage.
Bot sure its that one but would say its the same fireburns is a part of the damage roll See his last separate damage rolls are delivered by separate attack rolls Then he says if there is extra damage that is triggered by saving throw it do not crit etc booming blade when they move So it is one big damage roll

" Extra/bonus/additional damage is called extra/bonus/additional damage."
Jeremy Crawford even said, that extra damage is called such.
And as AntonSirius clearly showed, Fire's Burn does not add Extra/bonus/additional damage but allows you to have a new process of dealing 1d10 fire damage to the target on top of your attack. The Attack itself does not add extra fire damage.
Was mistaken with booming blade since it do not require a savingthrow.
But
Its not extra damage its part of the inital damage , you can also deal so there is nof differenciating between 1st damage and second damage so its just part of the initial damage ,
You deal 1d10 slashing and also 1d10 fire its part of the same damage
Also is a conjunctive adverbs making both the intial damage and the fire damage equally important and part of the same damage
All spells or features that add damage to an attack say in their wording "extra damage" or "add damage to the damage roll"... Hex, Hunter's Mark, Smite, Spirit Shroud, Conjure Minor Elementals, Battle Master Maneuvers, Warrior of Mercy Hand of Harm, etc...
Fire's Burn and Frost's Chill don't do that.
Interestingly, Psi Warriors Psionic Strike is also a seperate source of damage.
No it say also because its part of the initial damage there os no difference between the 2 damage rolls and they are both delivered by the same attack roll
But ofc i would not bet the deed on my house on that im right and i look forward to see what some of the optimizers reply.
I might actually be wrong because when he mentioned psi warrior i thought that cant be right that psi warrior dont crit either? Looking at the 2014 Jeremy actually tweeted psi dont crit.....omg
But anyway then at least i wont be taking goliath as much any more.

Since I have an account there, I asked myself the question Is the damage from Fire's Burn and Frost's Chill, Goliath traits, included in a Critical Hit?
What's your opinion?

I would say no as it is not a part of the attack damage but an additional source of damage.
I would also have to say no, since it does not specify that you "deal an additional" amount of damage, but rather you "also deal", sounding like it is a separate source.
These aren't extra damage but their own instance of damage aand wouldn't double by a Crit.
Nice. I'll remove then my wrong answer from that site and update my question here.
Thanks for your help and time!

But also makes it be apart of the same attack so why would it not crit
Kaima111 allowing it doesn't seem like a balance issue, but I think AntonSirius' answer highlights the difference well.

And Jeremy Crawford in an old tweet did say if the attacks damage incolves extra dice from a feature u double them too
Probably this one?
