After your character is created, let's say after you have leveled a few times, how do you go about learning languages apart from having the good luck to acquire a magic item for that?
I realize that in the normal hack/slash wargaming approach to D&D, players don't care much about languages. But in many games they can be a HUGE advantage, enabling your player to do things they might not otherwise be able to try.
