I was wondering, can a magic item be made that give you more then one reaction? Like rings trying to make a character whose amazing martial artist specialing in parrying.
Well, the hombrew Way of the Cobalt Soul monk from exandria has an ability that allows you to spend a Ki point in order to take an extra reaction. I don’t see why it couldn’t be done, but I think the best thing to do is put a limit on it, either a number of charges or a set number of uses per long or short rest. Sounds like a cool idea!
Rogue-thief "Thief's Reflexes" gives you an extra turn in a round, allowing you to take a reaction after your first turn (if something triggers it) and the 2nd turn you take in the round.
But I think a magic item allowing a character to parry more would be best setup to simply increase AC for the spell's duration. If you want it to be like the Battle Master's Parry, then maybe a pool of temporary HP. Heck, for a once off it can just grant the Battle Master's Parry ability once each turn for free.
But if you're after two or more reactions that could simply be used for anything from a readied action triggering multiple times to opportunity attacks, counter spell, feather fall, Battle Master parry or the many other reactions, I guess you'd just craft and homebrew to say it allows two reactions (although I'd possibly say the 2nd reaction can't be readied or used with metamagic).
Edit: Should note that 18th level Cavalier gets "Vigilant Defender" giving the player a single reaction on every turn of the round to perform an opportunity attack (regular reaction can only be used once in the round and not on a turn the opportunity attack is used). Timestop also gives you multiple reactions to be taken on the extra turns you get if there's a trigger.
