Question 1- Let's say a sorcerer character is true polymorphed into the rogue character in the party. In the sorcerer's new form, does he gain the proficiency bonus that he wouldn't have obtained if he was in his original form? For example, could the sorcerer gain the proficiency bonus while attacking with a rapier, although he wouldn't while in sorcerer form. The spell states, "The target's game statistics, including mental ability scores, are replaced by the statistics of the new form." If they do gain proficiency, do these proficiencies replace their old proficiencies or add onto them?
Question 2- In the sorcerer into rogue situation, would the sorcerer be able to cast its prior form's spells (assuming the rogue is not an arcane trickster). My personal feeling is no because the new form does not have spell slots, but I want to see others opinions on this.
