So, I see that Eldridge blast repel can push back targets, and the discussions I see tend to focus on stacking the pushback. My question deals with working with other melee party members.
1). The invocations says it can push back the target. Does this mean the warlock can choose whether or not to apply the pushback? You know so it won’t make the barbarian enrage at me because it has to chase down the target every time. Likewise, is there an element of chance involved in the pushback?
2). If pushed out of a melee characters, in an effort to appease said barbarian, would they get an attack of opportunity?
2) No you do not get an AoO for forced movement. But they can get an AoO on the run back into combat range, at least if you have the Polearm Master feat. Also a great combo with Booming Blade.

This.
Further, there is no "chance" it either does push or doesn't based on your choice.
As for the BB combo. This is good because the enemy has to move back into melee. Repelling blast does not trigger BB's bonus damage.
