I was thinking about orcs and their -2 to intelligence, when I realized if you rolled low on the stats and put intelligence as your dump stat, how would you play? Assuming you rolled all 1s, you'd have an INT of 3, and since orcs have a -2 they'd have an intelligence of 1, how would you be able to go with roleplaying? I just thought this would be an interesting scenario I wanted to share.
I would say you would not be able to relate to the outside world.
You'd see these objects that you can apply your five senses to but their meaning would be undecipherable. So using weapons would be extremely difficult to understand or how your fine motor skills would operate. Your language skills would be lacking to grunts and body language would be this slumped mass of flesh and bone.
But as others have said, a character with an intelligence of 1 is nonfunctional. There’s no real way to play such a character. 6 is probably the lowest you could go and still reasonably do the things the game expects all player characters to be able to do.
No, just no. As a throwback to point buy games - particularly Pathfinder, I do not allow any one to start with a stat below 7, and even then there needs to be a good roleplay reason and that player must play it out in game. It brings back memories of the triple 7 builds from Pathfinder organised play. I hate that kind of munchkinism.

check the feeblemind for some tips, but basically:

With Int 1, there really isn't any roleplay. You are alive and act instinctively.
A Mastiff has Int 3. (As does a Zombie.)
A Rat has Int 2.
A Gray Ooze has Int 1.
You are essentially just along for the ride, and one day, you might walk off a cliff to get a drink of water from the ocean.
Orcs don’t have -2 to intelligence anymore.

The Orc player race actually was errata'ed. They don't have any minuses any more (neither do Kobolds).
