I have a question pertaining to Path of the Beast Barbarian, and shield master. At level 5, can I do a combination of Grapple + Attack + (bonus action) Shield Shove prone?
I'm thinking you have 2 attacks, and you can forego one to grapple, then bonus action shove prone using shield master ability. First, can you do this? Second, do you maintain your grapple the next round, and can you attack the (now held prone) enemy?
A grappled opponent has their speed reduced to 0, and it costs movement to get up. If this works, you can even use the claw attack twice because it says you can make a second claw attack as part of the same action.
Side Note: Barbarians make way better shield masters than fighters. Here's why:
If you take the Attack action on your turn, you can use a bonus action to try to shove a creature within 5 feet of you with your shield. (Barbarians have advantage on Athletics checks when raging)
If you aren’t incapacitated, you can add your shield’s AC bonus to any Dexterity saving throw you make against a spell or other harmful effect that targets only you.
If you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you can use your reaction to take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, interposing your shield between yourself and the source of the effect.(Barbarians have advantage on Dexterity saving throws from effects they can see)
So you grab the enemy with 1 hand, smack them with a shield in the other, then... Bite them? You ran out of hands for attacking so you can't use claws.
Otherwise, yeah, you can break up extra attacks, I think.
I think it could be this: Attack Action: Claw once for first attack - Claw again for free - Replace second attack with a Grapple. Bonus Action: Shield Master Shove.
I think it would work for the first turn. On following turns though - as DxJxC pointed out - you've got no hands left. Your claw hand is grappling and your shield hand is holding the shield. You would have to make unarmed strikes like a bite or kick or headbutt. That's not too bad though - because as a Barbarian you'll have high strength for your unarmed strikes and you get the Rage damage bonus on them. But no claws.

Didn't think about the free hand issue (unarmed strikes might as well be claw anyway). But yeah, the grapple would remove my free hand/claw. I could make it work with the tail, though. Attack with the tail, grapple, bonus action shove prone. I (think?) that's RAW. Subsequent rounds I still have him grappled with my free hand, the enemy is stuck prone unless it succeeds contesting my grapple, then and I can still attack with my tail.

What do you guys think?
Tail or teeth would still work. You might also try to get unarmed fighting style for 1d4 extra damage from grapple (just a thought).

I think Tavern Brawler would work better, perhaps.
2 Claw Attacks, Bonus action grapple attempt, Shove with extra attack.
You have to make an unarmed strike (or improvised weapon) in order to get bonus action grapple though. Claw is not.
