I've been playing a draconic sorcerer and noticed that sorcerers don't get much good stuff after level 14, and because of that, I was thinking about throwing 6 levels of fiendlock into the mix. Does anyone have experience with this combo and can help?
The general combo people use is going hexblade, to get the better armor and shield and hexblade's curse.
Once you get to level 2 you take agonizing blast and probably repelling blast. With eldritch blast+ agonizing blast +hex you have a good, reliable damage dealing cantrip.
This is where it gets to be good damage: -Eldritch blast + agonizing blast + hex, at your level is going to give you 3d10+3d6+15 -Add you hex blades curse to that and you are getting an extra 15 damage -Add quickin spell, and now you double that damage. -This is fun because it frees up your spell slots for stuff other than damage, since this only needs a level 1 slot and sorc points.
thanks, Hexblade does seem to be better than fiendlock. I was thinking about sticking with firebolt for a damage cantrip, because it doesn't do much less damage and I can twin it twice as often as I can quicken it.

Eldritch Blast is the best damage dealing cantrip in the game especially if you go above level 5. The reasons are:
1. Each bolt is a separate attack so it is not a all or nothing cantrip. Each bolt also triggers things like Hex and Hexblade's Curse whereas cantrips like Firebolt only triggers it once.
2. It does force damage of which less monsters are resistant to compared to something like fire damage.
3. There are many Eldritch Invocations like Agonizing Blast which improve Eldritch Blast, making Eldritch Blast more damaging and in some cases a lot more versatile than something like Firebolt.
The only thing Firebolt has over Eldritch Blast is that you can Twin Spell it but I find that is not enough to take it over Eldritch Blast.
I'm not disagreeing with you that EB is better, I'm just not sure if it's worth taking EB, considering I already have fire adept and fire affinity, and agonizing blast takes up one of my 3 invocations.

EB damage is the main reason why you multiclass warlock. While you have invested heavily into boosting fire damage, EB is still gong to be way better. You can get the AC boost from plenty of other places.
You have to remember that EVERY bolt of EB gets the damage modifiers of Hex, Agonizing, HBC, along with the base damage. So at your level that is going to be 3x the damage on all those, and 6x the damage on them if you quicken EB. And if you go with the Agonizing + Repelling combo you have a really unique ability to knock enemies around the battle (30/60ft) which can be incredibly valuable and opens up a whole kind of strategic game play for you.
I guess I'll take a different tact and talk more about generally rather than focus on damage.
The size of the multiclass will ultimately depend on how much you wish to give up in Sorcerer spell progression. If your 14th level already your nearly at 8th level spells and only 3 levels from getting to have Wish at your disposal. With your group being at this level you are already in the 5% of groups that even get to this point so you might want to chat with your GM to see if they plan to go much higher in level as Wish is a very tempting carrot to chase after first.
Others have mentioned about firebolt vs eldritch blast and while EB with Agonzing Blast is a better spell there is no reason why you can't have both expecially if your game is involiving a lot of devils and/or dragons (as Elemental Adept won't help with their immunity). A couple of the other standout invocations are Eldritch Mind, Devil's Sight (Personally I'm not a fan but if you can take advantage of the darkness combo without hurting your group its good) & Mask of Many Faces (Excellent in social heavy games).
Pact Type (these are mostly about filling a party role):
Tome, 3 more cantrips from any spell list (Guidance is always a strong), the invocation Book of Ancient Secrets is excellent but you might already have a ritual caster in your group.
Talisman, is alright. It has a strong invocation at 7th level (d4 to saving throws).
Chain, its a super familiar. It can either be a great scout or just be a delivery method for potions and spells.
Blade - Unlikely to be what you are after unless you want to go gish in which case I would suggest Paladin as a better option for a 6 level dip.
Personally I would take a look at what you want out of a warlock multiclass as it is an excellent dip of 2-3 levels but there is not so much without costing you higher level spells.

Alston | Level 12 | Human | Cleric | Forge Dorrin | Level 1 | Stone Dwarf | Warlock | Fiend DM | Toril Catastrophe | Rime of the Frostmaiden DM | Clockwork Contingent | Tyranny of Dragons
something im always torn on is to stop at lvl 2 and back to sorcerer to get some spell levels or go to lvl 3 warlock for the pact and level 2 spell slots
