In Fizban's, they talk about Greatwyrms as being a merging of a single dragon's multiversal alternate selves (so, if the "Council of Kangs" metaphysically joined into one being, or the Council of Reeds, or the multiversal Deadpools, or the Loki's from the Loki tv series ... or kind of like the Jet Li movie "The One", only it might not be in a predatory way).
I was wondering about that as a Character concept ... but also for monsters.
As a Character:
Warlock Patron: You're one instance of a partially merged multiversal being. That multiversal being has already attained some degree of ascended power due to the merging they've already done. Either they contact you to groom you for merging, or you're trying to tap into their power for your own path of power (or maybe like in "The One", as the predatory alternate hunts your parallel selves, all instances gain power that will eventually all be given to the final instance when the others are eliminated). They become your Warlock Patron.
For this idea, I was toying with the idea of reskinning "The Many" patron from a third party publication "The Griffon’s Saddlebag: Book 2". That version has the patron as a multiheaded being (like Tiamat), and some of hte powers have to do with manifesting ghostly other heads (sort of). I was thinking that they would instead be more like ghostly/spectral alternate versions of you. So if you're primarily presented as a wizard like persona, but you're manifesting one of the "heads" for something in combat, a spectral version of you appears that looks more like a Barbarian or Paladin or something. The main problem with "The Many" is that it's written around 2014 rules, and hasn't been updated to 2024 rules (like getting those spells as always prepared instead of having them as options to prepare).
I was also considering that the character's very broad ability base might be a good use of the Lore Bard. Not sure if I'd go all Warlock, all Bard, or a multiclassed Many Warlock + Lore Bard.
For species, I was thinking a reskin of the Ravenloft "Reborn". Not because they've literally been reborn, but because the alternate selves can also function sort of like past lives.
There's another 3rd party Warlock Patron, Future You, that has some conceptual potential, but seemed to be less mechanically applicable than The Many.
Any other subclasses you can think of that might work (Astral Monk?)
As for creatures/monsters ... I wonder about how to apply the Greatwyrm's mechanical concepts to other creatures. The Greatwyrm mechanically just sort of feels like a next level of power above an Ancient dragon. I don't recall off the top of my head anything I would say is really multiversal. Any thoughts about an informal template of things to add to different tiers of creatures (sentient and even ones that aren't) that would seem appropriate?
