I’m building a character for a campaign, and have an idea that I would like input on. The goal of this build is to be an Iron Fist/Captain Falcon/Super Saiyan build, and deliver as much damage as I can in a single strike as I can as often as I can.
My race is Half-Orc. The classes I’m looking at are lvl 12 Four Elements Monk / 4 lvl Battle Master Fighter / 4 lvl Zealot Barbarian. I considered Champion fighter, but I think BM adds more flavor to the fact that I’m mostly a martial artist.
I’m flavoring a Mace to be a cestus weapon, so that I can use the dueling style, and my focus on the Four Elements will be abilities that are not labeled as spells, with the hope that I can use them while raging. I’m strongly considering the Orcish Fury feat, and only partially considering Savage Attacker to increase my chance of hit.
This is the most complicated build I’ve attempted, and I’m looking for input to see if I’m missing anything. Thoughts?
Okay, went through the build, here's the results of my finding. I used Standard Array: 15 Base Str, 14 Base Dex, 12 Base Con, 8 Base Int, 13 Base Wis, 10 Base Cha. Racial Bonuses makes that 17 Str and 13 Con. At level four in Monk I put Orcish Fury with Str Bonus, however it may make more sense to do +1 Str and +1 Wis to increase Damage, Hit, Elemental Abilities, and AC and then do Orcish Fury at level 8. These two can be swapped easily enough. 12th Level Monk +1 Str, +1 Con. The Elemental Disciplines I went with are Fist of the Unbroken Air, Shape the Flowing Water, and Water Whip. Fangs of the Fire Snake is a viable alternative, but not one I recommend as it is only good for reach. If you want to go with it then probably take off Shape the Flowing Water. For Barbarian I kept as is with the 4th Level bonus being +2 Wisdom. For Fighter I recommend taking Cavalier instead as it's feature scales based on Strength and has the flavor "you can menace your foes". Battle Master is best if you have a large number of levels in Fighter. For the 4th Level bonus +2 Wisdom again. This results in 20 Str, 14 Dex, 14 Con, and 18 Wis. I tried to focus on Constitution Unarmored, but then I noticed that it negatively affected the Elemental Features.
If you go with 8 Levels in Fighter than you can get the 20 Wis as well. I suggest dropping the Barbarian because your not going to get much use out of it.
Building for level 20 is something of a trap. It's nice to have an outline of what you'd like if you get there, but the overwhelming majority of campaigns don't last that long. I'd plan on level 10 more than 20.
For a rage monkey trying to be a Saiyan fistpunching ki blaster, I'd likely consider dropping the Fighter levels completely. Zealot barbarian for heavy ki fists, and either Elements monk or (more optimally) Sun Soul for the ki blasts. I'll also note that focusing on Strength over Dexterity means sabotaging your AC, since both Monk and barb Unarmored Defense relies on Dex as a primary component. There are races which fix this to a degree, tortles are infamous for making effective stronks, but they're not very Saiyan-y. Half-orc will need either heroic rolls (STR, DEX, and ideally both WIS and CON, though you could get away with only picking one) or some very serious magic item assistance to not have ass-tier AC if you're attacking with Strength.
It could work, but it'd need some heavy massaging to feel the way you're hoping it'd feel, methinks.

Thanks. I hadn’t given Cavalier much thought, as I’d viewed it as the “mount option”, but looking at it I definitely see the benefit.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely look into streamlining everything for fewer levels.
