Hello, I am playing a divination wizard and have just reached level 4, and would like some help picking feats. We will likely get to lv12-13 in this campaign (Avernus) and I was hoping to get some advice on what feats are most useful. For a little extra info, I am a Forest Gnome with: Str 12, Dex 15, Con 15, Int 18, Wis 13, Cha 10.
I have shortlisted:
War Caster
Durable (wizard hit die d6 mean that all hit die will always provide max healing as Con mod would become +3)
Resilient (Dex type, mainly just want a Dex increase for AC and initiative, but saving throws are nice)
Int ASI (max Int wizard)
What order should I take these in, or if you think of a better feat, please suggest that.
Any spells that are particularly useful would be welcomed also.
Always max out INT asap, then after that it depends on your style of play and where your ability scores are. If you have an odd CON score then resilient CON is amazing. If you combine that with war caster then you are all set with concentration, if you cast a lot of those types of spells. If your party is without a rogue then observant is great for the passive investigation. Spell sniper is a waste on a Wizard as you don't have any attack roll spells after I think level 3 and your to hit modifier should be ungodly at tier 4 so stay away from that (much better for Warlock with Eldritch Blast). Keen mind is great for the odd Int score (or combined with observant for 2 total). You can never go wrong with Lucky.
Outside of those, it's just flavor and won't help out your casting much if any.
Warcaster varies widely depending on how likely you are to be attacked, as well as how likely you are to get opportunity attacks from enemies that move out of your melee range. As a Wizard, it's unlikely that you'll need the ability to cast spells while both your hands are full. A lot of this depends on your DM - how likely do you think your DM is to have enemies go after the Wizard that is concentrating on a spell instead of your allies that are on the front line? Some DMs are happy to do as the players want and to focus their attacks on the heavily armored front line guys, and other DMs will go after the Wizard if it's obvious that you're concentrating on a very powerful spell that is affecting combat.
As others have said, resilient Constitution is better than resilient Dexterity if you're a spellcaster. And as others have said, Durable isn't that great, but Lucky is worth considering.
For the three feats/ASIs you get in this campaign, I would recommend taking Lucky, +2 Intelligence, and Resilient Constitution. Any order for those three is fine, but only take Resilient Constitution first if your DM is the type that will have enemies go after the Wizard when he's concentrating on a spell (which is what DMs should do, but not the way some DMs do it).
Lucky (1st choice, thematic), Fade Away for +1 Dex and gnomish trickery, and Resilient (Con) is my vote. +1 to DC's and to hit from 20 Intelligence is nice, but not so nice as any of those three feats.

Thank you!
Would go for Resilient Con instead of Dex, combined with War Caster it will be very hard to drop concentration.
And I think Lucky kind of deserves a spot on the short list for Divination Wizard.
For most sub classes I'd suggest maxing Int first with the ASI, but for Divination Wizard it's less important, especially if you take Lucky first.
Agreed. I’d be torn between Lucky and an ASI.

ASI in CON and DEX, get those for +3 in both stats, improving hit points and AC.
Sorry it wsn't in the options, I just thought it was the best option you could do at the level.
D&D is a game for nerds... so I guess I'm one :p

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
