Wizard should be War Magic. Evoker is over-rated, unless you house rule stuff.
Life Cleric helps healing, but is no tank.
Tank is the most necessary spot, you need someone to soak up the damage. Clerics are OK, but Paladins let you absorb the damage and dish it out at the same time. You already have a 1/2 Rogue for social situations, you do not need a Bard.
From what you have said I would guess you are missing a tank butthinbgs do depend a lot on the build.
Is the fighter / rogue ranged or melee? Do they have abitities that promote tankiness (e.g. Unwavering mark, Sentinal, Goading attack), are they more fighter or more rogue?
Is the cleric mostly getting into melee or attacking from range?, are they wearing heavy armor and carrying a shield?
Two melee fighters is enough and while you ideally you want 1 one with tanking abilities if both are melee I would go with a ranged character. Assuming that is not the case then yes you need a tank, (doubly so if both are ranged)
The other thing potentially missing is a face does anyone in the party have high Charisma?
If you need a tank and a face Paladin is the obvious choice, if you allow UA an alternative might be an armorer artificer, in Guardian armor they only need high Int and decent Con so yout could easily get 14 Cha and possibly even 16. If you have a face then you can consider any other tank such as a barb.
If you don't need a tank but need a face and charisma centred charcter wouuld work, with a bard you might want to try to concentrate on waht the skills the rogue is less good on. A sorcerer might not be a good idea asa wizard and a sorcerer gives you two very fragile characters, but a warlock could work well.
Fighter/Rogue is melee dex and has some tanky abilities, but he's definitely a mobile tank.
Cleric wears plate and shield, but doesn't like to charge in unless it's necessary. More of a hold the center kind of guy, but can stand his ground. Good Con.
3rd: Paladin makes a lot of sense as we need a face man and having a full on tank would be good to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Cleric and/or mobile.
4th: Rogue or Ranger Archer? War Wizard? Sorceror? I am thinking ranged dps/controller

Paladin Oath of the Ancients could be a good option, particularly at 7. Then the fighter and the rogue can work in tandem to get sneak attack activated while being resistant to the AoE spells that would likely be targeting them (in addition the Aura of Protection Paladins get at 6). The spell options give some interesting options like Misty Step for the moments that you just need those spells instead of smites.
However, if the cleric feels like using Warding Bond on the fighter (and use the Life Domain bonus heals to heal themselves after 6th level and try to space away) then the "Paladin" and "wizard" character can seek good synergy. One can be the blaster and the other can be the buffer/debuffer. There is a decent amount of freedom open to make a balanced party with what we know already.
Got a dex fighter/rogue
wizard (war magic or evoker?)
life cleric
4th... paladin? Bard?
Im open to suggestions! On the 4th or an ideal composition overall!
Dex Fighter/Rogue takes care of striker/social

So a front line combatant, healer, and spell slinger...what about a tank or battlefied controller?
For that I'm Thinking druid. Love druids fun and extremely versatile.
If you need a skill monkey/face of the party I'd say bard.
