How to find the nature or reasons of a characters motivation to do a quest for what class they are playing when there doing a quest...
I wonder if people like this idea that the duality of the character is shown as different sides of the same coin. For example If I play a fighter one side of the token could be a picture of a fighter, But the other side could be the picture of a rogue. Would that make my a character Roguefighter?
So moving on this idea gets more complex. So on coin 1 im using a picture of a fighter and on the other side im using a fellowship mode from a 5e book called adventures in middle earth. And I see it like I have to equip the side of the fellowship coin so that its like a key that lets the character go places on a fellowship without getting kicked out, So he can learn what there is to learn where ever he can go with a fellowship equiped, Allows him access to learn. And I guess fellowship is his motivation to do it too since its what he equiped. Ok so the second coin he uses a skill investigation and he equips the investigation so that he can have some kind of a key that lets him go wherever he needs to be on a investigation and not get kicked out and the motivation for that is he wants to speak (speaker is equiped on the other side of the third coin) about what he finds out about what his second side of his own coin like what his duality is is but he still hasnt figured that out so he uses another coin. This one is a nature check and on the other side would be a scripted out event. Would he be able to figure out his dual nature of his character is a rogue if his normal class is a fighter if he does the scripted event or would it be different every time.
*edit* something i forgot to mention was that what is it that makes the nature of the character is it being a fighter or is it the thing that is discovered from the scripted out event that reveals his rogue multiclass that helped him get through the scripted event.
I am not sure I followed all of that. I also do not think the 5E Middle Earth is official D&D 5E content. I know I haven’t read it. All that aside it sounds like you are trying to describe your character and his actions though a system of symetric duality using coins as a symbolic metaphor.
While this is a interesting concept I find the duality limiting as it forces you into analogue thinking. It is binary. One or zero, black or white, fighter or rogue. But nature is rarely so cut and dry and morally rarely ever so clean.
Is the rogue who steals food from the market to feed orphans food or bad? He is stealing from another, taking coins from the merchant who needs them to feed his own family. But he is giving the food to those who without his help may not have any. In this action we see duality in both states and is the classic example of doing the wrong thing for the right reason.
I am fond of the phrase “There are no Disney villains”, it is a simple expression that means much. We to often see the actions of those we do not agree with as evil and wrong. But most people are doing what they think and feel is right. No one is like Cruela Deville out to skin puppies for a coat simply because she can.
What makes a truly great and terrible villain is one who thinks he is doing the right thing. If you want to think of your character as one or two sides of many coins that is fine. If it works for you then you should go for it.
I look at my characters organically. Where was he born? How was he raised? What does he hope for? What does he fear?
My current character is Geth Ashwing. When his father died to a beast while they were hunting Geth took up his fathers greataxe and slew the beast. On his lonesome trip home he fell sick and in his sleep dreamed that a great being came to him and promised him a destiny of greatness. Overcoming his sickness Geth returned home and promptly set out for the wider world. Doing good deeds in a effort to prove himself worthy of this great destiny and ready himself for whatever trials he may face.
I don’t know if this answered anything for you. I do not know if this is the response you were looking for. I hope however that it gives you and anyone else reading it something to think about. Sorry for rambling.
Good luck, have fun.

Ya that was a good reply especially since i kind of mixed up my coins i ment to say coin one was knight and fellowship coin 2 was investigation and nature coin 3 was speaker and a scripted event. I guess I got it all turned around. but thanks for the reply. Ya I guess middle earth 5e is not official content either. well another idea i had for this concept was to use ideals and traits and bonds and flaws too
Now that could work for duality. Flaws and ideals especially so as the flaws are negative aspects of the character and ideals are what characters are trying to live up too.

Thats cool, because the scripted event I had is just the interactions of a fighter interacting with a guard in order to set free a prisoner the prisoner just stays out of it, and its in how the fighter reacts to the stuff the guard does that would seem to win the prisoner's freedom. I got the idea from some emote's i had set up as 4, 5,6, 2,1 which just means the guard sits downtrodden low on his luck doesnt know where he belongs and he asks do you know? so definatly a trait or bond or a flaw could help guide a response to that question, So If skipping that there on a fellowship and just start over with a coin with a fighter and on the other side id pick a ideal to respond to that guards problem id tell him he needs to not be worried about
what the town wants him to do and to let the prisoner free because of the "Ideal" and then he is preset to Bow and say thank you for the group but a sad look on the guards face tells you more than what he says. So i would go ahead with insight because that was the idea with the first place when i made this event i thought the fighter would have good insight to what the
guard was going through maybe because of a personality trait they both share. But the guard in the next thing he does hugs the fighter and says want to be friends and sighs and and says he already knows the answer. so must be a bond to be struck to get the guard to think there the fighters friend then i would bet he'd let the prisoner go. so the guard bumps into the figher and says please leave and thanks him kindly for taking the prisoner with him and then maybe reply with flaw and then the guard says just lead the way to the location and shakes his fist at the fighter.
