So I am about to start running a brand new campaign and as always am thinking through which house rules I want to incorporate into the world. This will be a long term campaign (my last 3 TTRPG campaigns for various systems have all run 2-3 years minimum) and I have no intention of switching to one DnD in it's entirety any time soon (I waited 4-5 years to start playing 5th edition)
So i find myself wondering what aspects of one DnD to port over to my campaign.
My thoughts so far
Exhaustion, I like the level approach vs the more complicated rules in the dnd rulebook. Dual Wielding, I am considering allowing this to ignore the bonus action Guidance, having it as a reaction just makes sense rather then have players say it every time someone says they are doing something On the above I may apply most of the change to spells need to go through on a spell by spell basis though. Barbarian rage, running for 10 mins and not needing to be attacked/attack to top it up allowing for more Roleplay uses of it i like.
So any other one dnd rules you think I should consider incorporating, I don't want to use the one DnD class rules in full but am happy to pick some of the more logical appraoches.
We're using the Exhaustion, draw-weapon-as-part-of-attack, and first-level feat rules. We also switched to the new Conjure spells since the old ones were already banned, but nobody has taken the new ones yet.
We also planned to use the UA monk but that player changed their mind about rolling one right away, so we'll likely wait for the final version to do that instead.
Me? basically all of them. I like new things, and it actually fixes a lot for me. Also i was looking to see the possible pain points to provide feedback, though the feedback period is probably passed. IMO its basically an improvement.
I am thinking of asking my DM if we can switch to the playtest bardic inspiration. Its pretty clear they are going to change it to function on a failed roll instead of having to guess. I would switch the entire class but I am not sure how it actually works with its spell lists since UA7.

Doubled healing, saner rage rules, exhaustion, quick draw, the entire monk...
I forgot the double healing, we use that one too. In fact, we applied it to potions!
Not a single thing as 5e is better.

The new rules about long rests have been implemented since they first appeared.
Our game has been pretty sporadic, so the only rule we added was gaining Inspiration on a crit, which we enjoy quite a bit.
