This build sort of happened by accident and I didn't expect it to be so powerful.
Last night, we were playing our Strixhaven campaign. I'm playing an eladrin genie patron warlock who was accidentally transported out of the feywild by her djinni patron, who apologised by taking her on a tour of the material plane and giving her her warlock abilities. Shes a silly little idiot who I love and our group is much more RP focused so a powerful build wasn't my priority.
We hit level 5 and I wasn't sure what to do so I picked Maddening Hex (BA deal CHA mod in psychic damage to a target affected by hex, hexblade's curse or anything similar), without realising it'd make my EB so consistently strong.
Assuming both beams hit, with Hex, Maddening Hex, Agonising Blast and Genie's Wrath (+PB in damage to damage roll once per turn), my EB does 2d10 + 2d6 + *18*, for an average of 36 damage with some of the least resisted and immune damage types in the game (force, thunder, necrotic and psychic). With high rolls, i dealt nearly 50 points of damage. All with a cantrip and a 1st level spell.
I think genie's wrath is awesome in tier 1. Adding an extra plus 2 damage goes a long way in stabilizing your expected damage.
No matter what, if I hit, I could expect to do a minimum of 7 damage a round. Minimum 8 at lvl 4. That's pretty cool, as I've found that little trait alone made my character the consistent sniper of the group.
