So from what I can tell, there are two ways I can get my familiar to attack.
1. Give up one of my attacks and have it use it's reaction.
2. Take Investment of the chainmaster and use my bonus action to command it to attack.
Now what I need is clarification on timings and how/if they interact.
For 1, it says they use their reaction so I'm assuming that means they attack immediately during my turn and not during their turn.
For 2, I give the command and then it attacks on its turn using its action.
Does this mean my familiar could technically attack twice in one round of combat? Once on my turn if I forgo my attack. Then after I used my bonus action to tell it to attack on its turn, it attacks on its turn.
I don't think I'll ever do this, but I want to know if I can, or if I'm misreading something (or just don't know an implied rule).
This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

If a Warlock forgoes an attack to let his Pact of the Chain familiar attack does it occur immediately or on it's next turn? I would rule that the warlock commands the familiar to attack, and then the familiar does so on its turn.
Also, I have a new question, and maybe this is the best place... to use the familiar's reaction, we need a trigger to activate it, right? For example an attack of opportunity or commanding the familiar to ready an action?
I would appreciate some examples of how to activate the familiar's reaction.
Regarding my previous question, it seems to be less complex than I initially thought.
After re-reading the rules, I suppose that the familiar consumes its reaction and transforms it into an attack. Am I right?
sounds about right yeah

that checks out from my understanding of it yeah.

Thanks to both of you for the confirmation.
I've actually used the double attack option a few times in conjunction with voice of the chain master when I wasn't actually there.
I was reading about the Pact of the Chain and stumbled upon this. Are the answers for the first option correct?

Hi, guys. It's me again.
Regarding my previous question, it seems to be less complex than I initially thought.
