Honestly I tend to MC a few levels to keep some 1st level slots open so I don't /have/ to stop casting hex.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
How many of you warlock players stop using the hex spell in conjunction with the eldritch blast cantrip at higher levels? Like from levels 11 on up?
Pretty much every pure warlock (so many MC it, only for a few levels), dumps Hex after about 5th level, ESPECIALLY if they are in melee. There are simply far too many Conc spells that are superior. At 7th level, Shadow of Moil is almost mandatory for a melee based Hexblade. Now, that said, if you want the option of a ranged machine gun (11th level or higher), EB + Hex + AB is frightening in damage. All things considered, you won't use Hex much past level 5 or 7, but it is worth keeping on your spell list, just in case.
I messed with another player (DM's suggestion) by casting Hex on the player, then choosing CHA for the ability checks. Suddenly his public playing of a Lute did not go so well.
Although the extra damage is great, hex lasts a lot longer. So you could keep hex up all day instead of just a minute. Set it up before breakfast (short rest) and it's practically a free spell.

Tasha’s introduced spirit shroud which is a better, scalable version of hex that will have play at higher levels.
