I'm thinking of multiclassing as a bloodhunter/warlock, but I have some reservations about multiclassing the two, especially with Bloodhunter having a warlock type subclass. What are your guys thoughts on this?
I see what you mean, but by taking profane soul means that even if you only have 1 level of warlock, and 3 of blood hunter, you count as a level 2 caster. That means you get more spell slots and cantrips without needing so many levels in warlock. However, blood hunter and warlock multiclass works well, as blood hunters are all about purging the world of evil. And if someone wants to give them power to do so, it works well.

Those were my thoughts too. I think it'd be interesting to see how it'd go. I have a Half Drow Warlock I'm building who's background and bio could be useful for this as he's already essentially down that path, but I don't think I'm ready to attempt a multiclass yet
You can got the Hexblade/Profane Soul route, wich will give you some leeway, but you'll still be a bit behind a pure Warlock build( not by much though)
Now it also depends on the proportions you wish to MC, do you want more levels in Hexblade than in Blood Hunter, or the Other Way?
What is gonna change is the features you get, depending on the class that becomes the primary class.
More lvls in Warlock will give more Eldritch Invocations, wich his one of the key Feature of the class.
While more levels in Blood Hunter, will give you more Blood Maledicts choices and usages with higher levels, and also some nice subclass features coming from the Hexblade-Profane Soul.
Personaly i like the prospect of an Hexblade/Lycan, MCing, the Hybrid transformation can be fluffed, and played as you Morphing into an Half-Devil form( think like Devil May Cry's Devil trigger), the Hybrid form is like a Pseudo Barbarian rage, and let you still use weapons/spells, so a 3 BH Lycan and X Hexblade could be something good, also taking the Blood Curse of Exposure(stripping enemies from their resistances/immunities).
