with genie's wrath, i can activate the mobillity bonus of the crusher feat with any spell or weapon attack i want, so that combined with the repelling blast and lance of lethargy invocations can give you a lot of controll over the movement of opponents with the eldrich blast cantrip, something that could make for an rather potent character especially if combined with spike growth or arms of hadar so that you can yeet people into the area denial zone and keep them in there

That is super fun. I love the crusher feat and forced movement in general. I completely forgot Dao gives access to spike growth. Personally I would pick up at least 3 levels of sorcerer or bard to have some second level spell slots to cast it with. Using high level pact slots on spike growth will feel bad if you decide to invest heavily in warlock levels.
I have a swarmkeeper 6/ battlemaster 4/ artificer 2 theory built (I don't build past level 12) around being a yeet cannon with a returning light hammer. It's janky as hell, but I think there is definitely something to be explored with the new ways to force movement introduced by Tasha's. That's a wonderful bit of synergy you found for the Dao Genie Warlock. The fact that there is no save on any of the forced movement coming from your set up is very strong.

on the one hand yes that might be an issue, on the other even without higher level scaling the spell can still be considered on-par with arms of hadar depending on how stupid your target is, using spike growth with an 5th level spell slots is likely not that big of a deal breaker when i get them back on a short rest anyways
this made me look up the swarmkeeper again, and that made me realize that you can absolutely use gathered swarm on eldrich blast, since it only requires an attack roll to hit, and the fact that xanatar's has an invocation that lets you have an passive aura made of bugs that harms everything within 5 feet of you, while such a build would be a bit mad it would be so much fun having the genie warlock who is just covered in bees pupeteering arround his / her enemies around the battlefield with many bees

If only cloak of flies was mechanically stronger. I absolutely love it from a character concept perspective.
I was thinking about the swarmkeeper/genie multiclass but didn't mention it because it seemed too MAD at a glance. Thinking about it more though, I think it could work. Might be hard to have a character that plays super well from 1-12, but it seems more possible than my first glance.
Without going into the racial stat changes from Tasha's that I can't stand, Half-Elf seems like the best bet. Start with 8/13/12/10/15/14 putting the +1's in dex and wisdom while the +2 bumps that charisma to 16. From there focus on charisma. Your swarmkeeper DC won't be the best, but it will be fine. More con would be nice, but this is a ranged build so I think that's acceptable too. 14 dex is just enough to meet MC prerequisites and have a good AC with medium armor.
Well funnily enough I ended up dropping Crusher from the 12 level build since it doesn't improve a main stat. But it could easily be picked up at level 13 with warlock 8. Decided I wanted to shoehorn the Life domain + Goodberry synergy (I know some people will have their stomach turn but meh). It creates a neat little package with ranger 4 to get those second level spell slots I want so badly while getting to 20 charisma only a level after most characters try to get there. I love just how many cantrips this character is going to end up with while still being able to get an improved familiar through pact of the chain.

Maybe something like this:
Race: Half-Elf (High Elf Heritage)
1. Ranger 1.
2. Ranger 2. Fighting Style (Druidic Warrior)
3. Ranger 3. Swarmkeeper
4. Warlock 1. Patron (Genie: Dao)
5. Warlock 2. Invocations: Agonizing Blast, Repelling Blast
6. Warlock 3. Pact of the Chain
7. Cleric 1. Domain (Life)
8. Ranger 4. ASI (+2 Charisma)
9. Warlock 4. ASI (+2 Charisma)
10. Warlock 5.
11. Warlock 6.
12. Warlock 7.
