When multi-classing into Wizard I assumed the character doesn't just "gain" a spell book out of hammer space? I tried to seach on Sage Advice, but came up empty.
I was reading the Wizard section and it says:
Spellbook
At 1st level, you have a spellbook containing six 1st-level wizard spells of your choice. Your spellbook is the repository of the wizard spells you know, except your cantrips, which are fixed in your mind.
Which makes a certain amount of sense because without the spell book... you aren't a Wizard, you are but you don't do anything.
In addition this feature saves the character between 250-350 gold! (A wizards starts with a spellbook (50gc and 6 spells (50gc each). A wizard also gains 2 fee spells when she levels, so it's arguable that those could be included).
Does a character who multiclasses Wizard just gain a spellbook and 6 spells like the above says or is that only for level 1 wizards and level 1 characters?
While it seems weird to have a character materialize it out of nowhere, it seems like an unnecessary hindrance only 1 class has.
Normally any equipment you'd gain from a class is not included when you multiclass into said class but you do gain it's class features. And in the case of the wizard, the spellcasting class feature they gain at 1st level states twice that they have a spellbook. So by RAW, you would get a spellbook. But RAI would assume that such wording was in there due to the fact that your equipment already gave you a spellbook, in which case you'd have to pony up 50 gp. So basically it's up to how your DM wants to read things.
Either way the spellbook doesn't just appear out of thin air. Because whether you pay for it or not you would gain it as per your training into the class, similar to how you would pick up a sword to begin training to be a fighter for example. And in case you are wondering, you wouldn't have to pay to inscribe the six 1st-level spells you gain at 1st level since it's apart of your initial wizard training.

A spellbook containing a basic starter set of six first level spells would cost 50gp for the book, 6 × 50gp for ink and 6 × 2 hours for the inscription of each spell (though the ink costs and time could be halved if the inscription was conducted by a specialist from each spells magical school).
As a player wanting to run things in a logical way I was thinking to ask if my starter character could begin as a fighter and either use wizard starting equipment and choose a background that gave money for basic weapons or to, as normal, use fighter starter equipment and choose inheritor background asking that an "arcane book" inherited could be something along the lines of a wizard's starter spellbook.
In other circumstances, DMs might just decide that a spellbook miraculously appears or that you discover a spellbook of some wizard who had gone off adventuring with neither physical armour or proficiency in constitution saving throws.
I suppose your character have at least an INT of 13, the minimum ammount required to cast spells using the brain as a storaging space, and also as a tool for the LOGIC sense. If you chosed to be a Wizard, but you didn't check the pre-requirements, it will be a MESS.
Be sure your character have the spellbook in the inventory, or else you'll have to spend extra time going to the markets or stores for 1. The cheapest books are found on the blackmarket, ( 40 gp each )... but that's another history xD.
Becoming a mage doesn’t just happen - it calls for training and time to learn the basics so you get the spellbooks and your starter spells during this time. If you are starting at level 1 and planning on a melee- mage MC get the melee first - HP, weapons and armor matter, but then the DM needs to work with you sort of to build the training time into your story and the party’s.

Unless spellbooks became illegal there's no reason that they'd be found in a black-market, or so cheap.
I'm sure that if spellbooks with six adventuring relevant 1st level spells were put up for auction (and if multiclassing would be wizards weren't just given books) they'd have a potential to achieve some extremely healthy sales values.

:D Who pays for all this and who provides that greatly valued spellbook with its 6 inscribed 1st level spells?

“Wizards live and die by their spells. Everything else is secondary. They learn new spells as they experiment and grow in experience. They can also learn them from other wizards, from ancient tomes or inscriptions, and from ancient creatures (such as the fey) that are steeped in magic.” “
Learning Spells of 1st Level and Higher
Each time you gain a wizard level, you can add two wizard spells of your choice to your spellbook for free. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots, as shown on the Wizard table. On your adventures, you might find other spells that you can add to your spellbook (see the “Your Spellbook” sidebar).
YOUR SPELLBOOK
The spells that you add to your spellbook as you gain levels reflect the arcane research you conduct on your own, as well as intellectual breakthroughs you have had about the nature of the multiverse. You might find other spells during your adventures”
so you get a standard spellbook ( from your teacher) and get to put the 6 starting spells you learn as well as the 2 “free” spells you get each level and the ones you get from scrolls and copy from spellbooks and other mages.

The campaign with this background would be amazing to play, don't you think ??? Guess how rude and rough would be for mages and other casters ( Sorcerers not included... ahemmm ) to get a decent spellbook if the local traders, storages, and/or shops don't hane any spellbook available on sell.

Yep, rough certainly.
Each level up lets characters add two spells to their spellbook and I'd imagine that the wizards could gain a magical blessing to place the otherwise expensive writing in the book. Maybe they have a similarly magical initiation when they first get to level 1 which helps them get their first six spells.
Mechanically it works I guess as is.
An option would be to make ink cheaper but that would perhaps make it too easy for players to get every spell possible written in.
You can do anything you want really but the rules simply say you get the spellbook, 6 starting free spells and 2 free spells per level. If you are in the forgotten realms ( or just really worship a deity of magic) maybe Mystra, Shar or whomever reads your mind as you decide what (new) spells you want and provides them to you to help spread the use of magic who knows that is upto the DM and maybe the player to put into their world and backstory.
Yes.... but what if instead of getting one spellbook at the beginning, one HAS to spend time in finding a spellbook seller ?????
It would suck as while the rest of the party can make full use of all abilities available to them - you're not. That feels icky.

Frankly if you have to go buy a new spell book and spend the gold to scribe what are supposed to be your free spells you need to have a long talk with your DM and maybe find a new DM.
