Weapon (greatsword), legendary (requires attunement by a Requires attunement by a Barbarian who is fated to walk the path of The Drowned)

Damage: 2d6 slashing + 1d8 cold damage
Properties: Heavy, two-handed
Bonus: +3 to attack and damage rolls

While attuned to this item, you gain the following abilities:

Crushing Tide:
When you hit a creature with this weapon, you may choose to unleash the crushing force of the sea:
The target must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and pushed 10 feet away from you.

On a failed save, the target is also silenced (unable to speak or cast spells with verbal components) until the start of your next turn.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum once) per long rest.

Breath of the Abyss:
Once per short or long rest, you can unleash a 30-foot cone of chilling, necrotic mist from the blade:
Creatures in the cone must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or take 6d8 necrotic damage and be deafened and silenced for 1 minute.

On a successful save, they take half damage and suffer neither condition.

Sea’s Resilience:
While attuned and raging, you gain resistance to cold and necrotic damage, and your hit points cannot be reduced below 1 by any single attack or effect once per rage.

Mistwalker:
As a bonus action, you can vanish into a swirl of mist and move up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is in dim light, fog, mist, or heavy rain. You remain lightly obscured until the start of your next turn.

Curse: The Drowned’s Burden:
Once attuned, the blade’s whisper of the deep never leaves you. After each long rest, roll a d20:
On a 1, you gain a haunting vision of drowning memories. Until your next long rest, you have disadvantage on saving throws against being frightened and on Wisdom (Insight) checks.

You can suppress this effect by praying to a sea deity or spending 1 hour meditating near a large body of water.

Encounter: The Wailing Depths:
Haunting Spirits of the Drowned Fury’s Curse

After meditating to relieve the crushing weight of the sea’s curse and the lingering effects of their brand, your barbarian is drawn into a nightmarish vision beneath the waves. The salty water dims into shadowy mist. Phantasmal voices echo—whispers of lost sailors, drowned kin, and forgotten horrors.
Suddenly, restless spirits rise—twisted echoes of drowned warriors branded by the sea’s unforgiving wrath. These Wailing Depths seek to claim the soul of the living, dragging the barbarian into an eternal drowning nightmare.

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
