Each ring is bonded to a specific collar, and only works with said collar.
Once attuned this ring allows voluntary telepathic communication and understanding between rider and mount. It also allows communication attempts between other bearers. The other bearers (of mounts and collars) may shrug off attempts at communication.
How the Wyvern wearing the collar reacts to wearing it depends greatly upon it's treatment. It s a metaphorical bridle, not a ring of command. The Collar wearing Wyvern will obey, to a point. If the relationship begins "Well" the Wyvern begins with 10 points of Obedience. Each Order given the Wyvern disagrees with, reduces this by -1. Each Order given the Wyvern agrees with, or each time the Wyvern feels Indulged, gives a +! to the Obedience total.
How much Obedience the Wyvern begins with is a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10, dispensed at the DM's discretion.
While still under the influence of Obedience, the Wyvern is docile and obedient... If the effect is broken... Don't call the manufacturer, or, well... don't have your kin try to.
If the Ring is not attuned, but a connection is attempted to the corresponding collar bearer, the user has a +2 Charisma for control attempts, and as long as the suggestion/order is not antithetical to the Wyvern, the Wyvern's saving throw is at a -2.
This Ring can "point" to it's corresponding Collar within one mile;
See Also Wyvern Mount's Collar...
Notes: For the ring to work the proposed rider must put the corresponding collar on the prospective wyvern mount.
