This squat iron pot contains a thick, shimmering sticky liquid that smells faintly of tree sap and ozone. The Voltagluewithin acts as both an incredibly powerful adhesive and a magical lightning-triggered explosive.
-
Adhesive Power:
As an action, you can smear or throw the glue onto an object or creature within 30 feet (make a ranged attack roll; on hit, the target is glued). Glued creatures must succeed on a DC 17 Strength check to break free (or be freed by external force). The glue hardens in 1 round, locking objects and creatures in place. When used on doors, chests, weapons, or armor, it creates a near-unbreakable bond. -
Lightning Vulnerability:
If the Voltaglue is struck by lightning damage — magical or natural — it violently detonates.
If struck by any lightning damage while exposed:
-
Explosion Radius: 20 feet
-
Damage: 6d6 lightning + 4d6 force damage
-
Save: DC 16 Dexterity saving throw. Success: Half damage. Failure: Full damage and knocked prone
-
The glue burns away completely in the explosion.
Usage:
-
The pot contains 3 uses of Voltaglue. Each use coats a Medium-sized area, or can be divided into smaller quantities for traps or tinkering.
-
Refills can be crafted with rare alchemical components and the blood of a lightning elemental (DM's discretion).
Fun Uses:
-
Lock a creature in place.
-
Glue a trapdoor shut—then shock it if someone tries to open it.
-
Slather it on an arrow tip or spear and hit a metal-clad enemy.
-
Craft volatile lightning grenades using this glue and ball bearings.
