Artifact (requires attunement)
+3 Accurate Versatile Longsword: 1d8+3 slashing (one-handed) / 1d10+3 slashing (two-handed) with Vorpal property.
The sword holds 8 charges of psychic damage: Each charge adds +2d8 psychic damage to an attack until charges are depleted.
Recharge time: Regains 1d8 charges at dusk.
Sentient Artifact:
INT 2, WIS 6, CHA 10.
Alignment: Neutral Evil.
It communicates only by sensations and emotions. It knows no language. The sword is blind and deaf.
Screams of the Balor: When you deal psychic damage to a creature by expending a charge of Elaphide, that creature must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened and confused.
The sword is sentient but “brain-damaged” and completely insane. Èrakos created it by embedding the lobotomized psyche of “Ichabod the Terrible,” a Balor who had once been his tormentor during his enslavement in Azzagrat. When Èrakos descended into the Abyss, he was hunted once again for slavery. By cruel fate, one of his hunters was none other than the Balor Ichabod. Èrakos defeated him and trapped his soul in a phylactery.
He would often amuse himself by torturing the demon’s mind until all that remained of the Tanar'ri was a screaming, shattered fragment of consciousness.
After returning from the Far Realm, Èrakos further mutilated Ichabod’s mind through horrific experiments—even going so far as to graft the demon’s soul into a new body just to torment it again. Eventually, Èrakos grew bored and imprisoned what was left of Ichabod in an opal, which he then embedded in the pommel of his new sword.
Whenever Èrakos touches the weapon’s hilt, the trapped demon screams in terror.
The sword cannot hear or communicate. Anyone attempting attunement (other than Èrakos) risks being overwhelmed by its maddening screams: Whenever the wielder touches the sword, he must make a DC 15 Intimidate check against the sword's consciousness, failing which he or she experiences excruciating pain and 2d8 psychic damage per combat turn, and is forced to release the artifact. After 10 consecutive successes on the Intimidate check, the attunement is successful.
The sword is utterly terrified of Èrakos.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Whenever the wielder touches the sword, he must make a DC 15 Intimidate check against the sword's consciousness, failing which he or she experiences excruciating pain and 2d8 psychic damage per combat turn, and is forced to release the artifact. After 10 consecutive successes on the Intimidate check, the attunement is successful., Versatile, Sap
