Weapon (rapier), very rare (requires attunement)

This rapier is made entirely out of wood and looks to the naked eye like a simple practice sword. It is, however, as sturdy and sharp as a finely crafted metal rapier.

+1 to hit and to damage dealt.

This rapier has 5 charges.

On a successful hit, you may spend one charge to leave splinters in the wound. Whenever the target then moves or attacks, they take 1d4 piercing damage. Creatures affected by this ability may use their action to remove the splinters if they succeed on a DC 12 Medicine check.

As an action, you may drive the blade of the sword into the earth and spend 2 charges. You then make a melee attack roll on any creature within 60ft. If successful, the blade emerges from the ground and stabs the target, dealing damage.

The rapier regains 1d4+1 charges every long rest.

Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
