Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a Requires attunement by a creature that has the Bardic Inspiration class feature.)

A thin brass-and-glass pocket metronome with three tiny notches: First, Second, Third. When tapped, a faint, floating metronome appears behind you.

At dawn, the metronome gains 3 Beats. You can spend Beats to produce the following effects. Creatures must be able to see or hear you (your choice) to be affected. Legendary Resistances work normally.

• First Beat — Count Off (Bonus Action; 1 Beat): Choose up to two creatures within 60 feet. Until the start of your next turn, those creatures have disadvantage on the next saving throw they make against an enchantment or illusion spell you cast. If Unsettling Words would apply to the same saving throw, only the stronger effect applies.

• Second Beat — Freeze the Floor (Action; 2 Beats; no concentration): Choose a point you can see within 60 feet; 30-foot-radius until the start of your next turn. Creatures of your choice in the area have speed 0, can’t take reactions, and have disadvantage on attack rolls. At the end of their turns, they may make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC to end this effect early.

• Third Beat — Final Stroke (Action; 3 Beats; also limited to once per long rest): Choose up to a number of creatures equal to your proficiency bonus within 60 feet. Each must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, it is stunned until the start of your next turn. On a success, it is frightened of you until the end of its next turn.
Stillschuld: Each time you use Final Stroke, you incur a Stillness Debt until you finish a long rest. The DM chooses one meaningful social check you make before then; you roll that check with disadvantage as the world pays your rhythm back somewhere else.

• Rhythm of the Crowd (Passive): Whenever you grant Bardic Inspiration, the recipient may immediately move 5 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.

• Market Quiet (Action; 1/Long Rest): You cast *Calm Emotions* without material components. Your spell save DC applies.

• Change the Tempo (1/Short Rest): You may grant Bardic Inspiration silently; the target must see you, but need not hear you.

• Barovia’s Echo (Barovia only): Whenever you spend a Beat, the DM may roll a d20. On a 1, the Domain reacts—ominous signs, attention from dark powers, or other narrative consequences.
