Weapon (dart), rare (requires attunement by a Ranger or Rouge)

The Yaka Arrow is an enchanted projectile that responds to its wielder’s whistles, allowing for precise control, chained attacks, and devastating high-speed strikes. However, its power is finite—if its final ability is overused, the arrow shatters permanently

Properties:

  • Whistle-Controlled Flight:
The wielder can whistle to change the arrow’s trajectory mid-flight, allowing it to curve, ascend, or switch targets within its maximum range.

  • Returning Shot:
If the arrow does not strike a target or if the wielder wills it, it returns to their quiver at the end of their turn.

  • Multi-Strike (Attack Action):
As part of a single Attack action, the Yaka Arrow can hit multiple targeted creatures within 20 feet of each other as long as the arrow hits the first target and its next targets. On a hit, the creature takes 2d8 piercing damage, and as part of that action, you can chain the attack by rolling another attack to target one creature near the first target; all creatures hit within this action take the same damage as the first one. The chain will only stop upon your next miss as the arrow returns to you.

  • Critical Hit:
If the arrow critically hits a creature, the creature will take the maximum arrow damage and an additional +2d8 radiant damage.

  • Piercing Whistle (Limited Use, Cooldown, Risk of Breaking):
If the wielder whistles three times quickly and then holds the final note, the arrow accelerates to extreme velocity, flying in a straight line and piercing through enemies.

    • This effect ignores cover as the arrow can pierce through walls and doubles the arrow’s range.

    • Each creature in the line must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 17) or take critical hit damage. On a success, they take half damage.

    • This ability can only be used three times before the arrow overheats.

    • If all three charges are used without allowing the arrow to cool down, the Yaka Arrow shatters permanently.

    • Cooldown: The arrow regains one charge every 8 hours, but if all charges are expended at once, it does not recover.

  • Silent Hunter:
The wielder can learn to whistle at different frequencies, allowing the arrow to fly in complete silence, preventing enemies from hearing its approach.

Proficiency with a Dart allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
