Armor (shield), legendary (requires attunement by a One must pray for 30 minutes each morning to Sehanine, the goddess of the moon, in order to use its magic. )
The Shield of Sehanine manipulates visibility. When rested in the shrine of Sehanine in the Frostbeard Caverns, it illuminates the caves and provides visibility.
While wielding the Shield of Sehanine, the user's visibility will change based on the phase of the moon. It is as follows:
- New Moon- Just as the moon is reborn in darkness, those who wield the shield on this night are as well. You are completely invisible and any creature you touch becomes invisible until night ends or the wielder lifts the effect. Anything the target is wearing or carrying is invisible as long as it is on the target's person. For the duration, each creature you choose within 30 feet of you(including you) has a +10 bonus and advantage to stealth checks. This bonus leaves behind no tracks or traces.
- Waxing or Waning Crescent- When but a sliver of the moon remains, only a sliver of the wielder remains as well. The wielder is transparent. For the duration, you get a +5 bonus to stealth checks. This bonus leaves behind no tracks or traces.
- First and Third Quarter Moon- When the moon is a blend of darkness and light, the wielder can choose to manipulate one or the other.
- If you choose the radiant side, you may angle your shield to shine and blind a foe with your radiant light. Choose one creature that you can within range to make a constitution saving throw. If it fails, the target is blinded for the duration. At the end of the target's turn, the target can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell ends.
- If you choose the shadow side, you can use your action to give yourself or someone else an advantage on stealth checks.
- Waxing and Waning Gibbous- The moon is bright and large in the sky and very visible. If a foe attacks and you block with the Shield of Sehanine, a bright light emits and does 3d8 radiant damage. The foe will also have to make a constitution saving throw. If it fails, the target is blinded for the duration. At the end of the target's turn, the target can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell ends.
- Full Moon- The moon is a full eye watching over the world; waiting for its chance to light up those fiends that walk this material plane. When the wielder touches a foe, whether they are being attacked or the wielder pushes a foe back with the shield, a silvery beam of pale light shines down in a five-foot-radius, 40-foot-high cylinder centered around the target. The target within the beam is engulfed in ghostly flames that starts to melt away at its skin. The target must make a constitution saving throw. On a failed saving throw, it takes 5d10 radiant damage, or half damage on a successful one. A shapechanger is immediately reverted to its original form and cannot assume a different form until it leaves the spell's light.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
